Hi there! Great mod concept, however now with the more modular file and modding structure, you can easily make this much more compatible by turning it from an MBIN replacement mod into an EXML patch mod, at least for the largest of the files. There is no need to replace the entire file anymore, you can just delete any unnecessary subsections. For NMS_REALITY_GCTECHNOLOGYTABLE, this would make a lot of sense because a lot of mods change things in there and this mod literally just changes two lines. Basically, you can delete all the other subsections except for the <Property name="Table" value="GcTechnology"> ones with VEHICLE_SCAN1 and VEHICLE_SCAN2. After that, don't repack into MBIN but instead change the extension to EXML and place that where the MBIN is right now. I'll do that on my end anyway, but for compatibility, you might want to consider doing that for your download.
For SCANEVENTTABLEVEHICLE, I'm not sure if/how all of the newly added elements would work as EXML, so I'm not touching that, and in VEHICLESCANTABLE you change pretty much everything, so MBIN remains the way to go.
I tested it with the EXML and it's working as intended. Thanks for making this! :)
May I suggest...in my opinion (and I am a modder) if you have an improvement and someone else doesn't want to make it available, it is completely appropriate if not desired that you post your version. When I've done this I always give the inspiring author credit within the mod, but at the end of the day you (again just my opinion) shouldn't hold back an improved version from people because someone who provided one mod doesn't want to update/upgrade their own. They have no obligation and all work is appreciated! But on the other hand improvements are also desired and appreciated. By posting yours, no one is saying they can't use his if they want to. And if he wanted to provide it himself he would have already done that...so he's said he doesn't want to do that. Right?
In any case, can I get a copy?? lol A replacement actually jacks with one of my very own mods that I created.
The current version has been trimmed. My comment referred to the original post-WPII update. Some things have changed with the mod since then, and I no longer use any custom version of it. (Also, my trimmed version wasn't an "improved" version, just one that attempted to minimize potential future conflicts. I am unaware of any mods that conflicted with the original or current version, except of course those that do the same thing, as there are several mods on here that expand Exo scanning.)
I also disagree with you in that I do NOT find it okay to take someone else's mod, delete a few lines, then post it as my own. I wouldn't be okay with other people doing that with my more ambitious mods (Loot Overhaul, Fossil and Bartering Overhaul ... the rest of my NMS mods are so small and easy to make that I don't really care what anyone does with them), at least not without asking me first.
Update installed perfectly, but I don't think it's detecting crashed sentinel interceptors anymore. Tried in a purple and yellow system. It's detecting 'regular' crashed ships just fine, and all the other options are working great.
Anyone else seeing this or just me?
Edit: Forgot to mention that when I scan for crashed ships it will sometimes not return a result. As in, I see the flash but that's it. No ship and no 'No nearby building' message. Just blank. Maybe it's finding the interceptors but failing to display the result properly?
I think as a result of this mod clashing with my mod it's causing an issue.
If I am mining Ferrite dust all my inventories will get filled up with Geodes (Like thousands of them). I'm not sure why this would happen but it only started happening when I added this mod. The other mods I am using are;
JJs Better Ships Keep Gifting No Portal Charging No Damaged Slots Unpredictable Roaming Ships Exosolar's Starmap Upgrade
I'm pretty sure it's this mod as I've had the above list for a lot of playthroughs (incl. this one) without issue.
To my understanding, this geode issue is a game bug - not the fault of any mod. I haven't seen it myself (yet). Anyway, the bug's place would have to be in parts dealing with the rewards table - which this mod does not touch.
The path where the icons are located isn't valid on your comp - You need change it to a valid one and place the icon files in it. I might revert to internal texture only to avoid this in the future.

I had a problem merging this mod using AMUMMSS, and report.lua gives me a warning for it:
Any idea how to solve it?, as far as I know (which means I know not so much, will have a icon not showing properly.
Thanks in advance!
