gSound: using a all merge give errors and warnings on those files: ERROR gSound Fireplace.lua WARNING gSound Refiner Large.lua gSound Refiner Medium.lua gSound Refiner Portable.lua gSound Battery.lua gSound Shield Station.lua gSound Health Station.lua
Looks like they changed how some of the sounds are played. They took out some ambient sounds and/or moved to different types of code. I'll look more. Those warnings shouldn't be a problem - they just won't do anything to those objects. I don't see what could be causing an error in the fireplace, but I'll look more at that, too.
Excuse me, sorry for the dumb question but if i want all your compatible mods, do i download this and each and everyone one your compatible mods OR do I only download the gEpic mod?
HG is based primarily in Guildford, UK, so makes sense. I'm in Asia (Korea), but I keep a clock on my phone and computer for London, partially for NMS stuff :)
It's not one Lua file; it's a collection of dozens of files. You can either decompile the PAK, use the gMods zip, or use the AMUMSS Lua repo on GitHub.
I don't get why it is so convoluted. Why not just have a single LUA file for each download, that is included with each download, instead of essentially requiring each and every user to reverse engineer the entire pile for the actual needed LUA file to merge with all the other mods the user wants to incorporate?
There is not a single Lua because gEpic is not a single mod; it is a collection of dozens of mods, a mod pack. When a mod needs to be updated, I update the individual Lua, then overwrite the gEpic Luas as necessary. If I were to make a single Lua, I would need to spend many hours combining the different Luas into one file (three times, once for each version), then whenever there is a component mod that needs to be updated, I have to update both the base mod and then dig through three different gEpic Luas to find and correct it there, too. Trying to manage it as one single Lua per version would not be a reasonable use of time.
I offer three different ways to get the Luas, none of which are complicated. You can use the gMods zip: download a zip file and open it - done. You can use the GitHub repo: navigate to my folder, then the gEpic folder, then download - done. You mention merging mods, which means you are familiar with AMUMSS: put the PAK in ModScript, run BuildMod.bat - done.
What you call "each and every user" is actually a VERY small subset of the userbase. Most users use the mod as-is. I could try to include the Luas in the main zip, but then the vast majority of users would be completely confused about what file to put into MODS, what to do with all those Luas, and my support time would skyrocket. You are actually in a very small subset of users, and being in that subset requires a little bit of extra knowledge on how mods work in NMS and how to modify them.
Why don't you just explain what is confusing or what you are trying to accomplish and I would probably be more than happy to try to help with that.
Why are all the lua files together instead of just added to each corresponding mod? I'm really not sure how to install these properly, especially ones that don't have a direct corresponding lua file.
Hi. I'm using your 9 ships in the freighter bay mod and have it set to 8 so a friend of mine can get in when he wants to join. Is there a way that we can keep traders from landing in the bay and taking up that last spot? Or are you aware of a mod that has that functionality?
No mods have that functionality that I know of. I know how it could be done, but I don't think I have the time to do it. You would need to edit the landing pad entities in the freighter to disallow NPC targets. There's a boolean value for it. If I get time I'll do something.

Wow! Great to see 1 person on the internet which also uses UK time!
