   am I supposed to do something after install?
   I have the egg in inventory and this is the only mod enabled. now what?

      You don't need to do anything else. It skips the 'wait for the egg to mature' section of the quest.

      okay, so I had to have an egg in inventory and fly around till the quest actually started.
      Mod seemed to work fine after that but I still have a couple stages of it to go.
