Just wondering if this mod will become another combo mod like other Exosolar & Jasondude's mods?

Not possible with this one.  This mod changes the same palettes as DUD's GrassPlantSandRockColors.  The file these palettes are in has a restriction.  Each palette is limited to 64 colors, no more, no less.  So, can't combine his and mine for 128 color palettes.  Neither the compiler nor the game would accept it.

Ahh, that does suck then. Wish there were some kind of workaround... an RNG string that randomly chooses from a collection of color palettes then if it's limited to 64 per. Could at least then use multiple people's color touches instead of one or the other.

It would take someone far more knowledgeable with the languages and what the engine will allow than I.

How many colors does this mod add? Is they a way to add more using the lua file? There is a mod for no man’s sky that adds billions of more colors but it hasn’t been updated since synthesis, and if there is a way to replicate it with this mod, I would love to know how.

It doesn't add, it replaces.  In the game file in question, BASECOLOURPALETTES , each section is limited to 64 palette entries, no more, no less.  Fixed size arrays.  You can modify the palette colors in the Lua as you wish, but must remain 64 per section.  In vanilla there's a couple of section with only a single color palette option....repeated 64 times.

Do you have a link to the "billions" mod?  I'm guessing that was "marketing" hyperbole.
There are other PALETTE files in the game that accept more palettes, like DAYSKYCOLOURS for example.  I have a mod that makes ~2400 day sky palettes available.  Problem being you hit a point, with so many variations, that have to be written into a game file in a specific way, that the file gets so large it'll crash the game or cause EXTREME load time due to the amount of time it takes to read the file contents into memory.  There's another Sky color mod, called Gnome Anns, that adds 100k. Doable, but the differences in color among many of them are barely perceptible to most.

Edit: I look through most of Synthesis era mods, new and updated, from Nov 2019 - Mar 2020 and the only palette mods I noticed were Gnome Anns and Exo's Stratos.

Oh yeah, I remember that one.  It's not billions of colors, it's billions of color combinations across all objects on a planet.  Flora here fills out 4 sections with full and different palettes, total possible combinations, 2.8 million or thereabouts, not counting in the vanilla sections/palettes in the file.  If you wanted to change those up, feel free.  If for publication, then must leave attribution.  :)

I’m sorry so this mod adds 2.8 million color combinations to the lush planets? Does that means that I will never see the same colors twice on a planet then if I install it? And if I wanted to add more combinations, how would I go about doing so?

Hello, I guess this mod wont work with True Color right? AMUSS report conflict on "METADATA\SIMULATION\SOLARSYSTEM\COLOURS\BASECOLOURPALETTES.MBIN" (NMSARC.Precache.pak)

By default, no, as both modify the same file.  The game will only use the one from the last loaded .pak in PCBANKS\MODS.  That being said, both mods make changes to different sections of the file, so they can be combined/merged, so that they both work.  Get and install AMUMSS.  Install step by step at How to use AMUMSS at No Man's Sky Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com).  After completing all of the install and update steps, take the lua included with Flora Colors and the Lua for True Colors (can be found at nms-amumss-lua-mod-script-collection/Babscoole/courtycat MODs at main · MetaIdea/nms-amumss-lua-mod-script-collection (github.com)  Click on the version you want, click the RAW button, right-click on the page and choose Save as, save with extension Lua), place into AMUMSS\ModScript.  Run buildmod.bat.  Choose Combine at the prompt.  The output .pak has the changes for both mods in it.  When this combined .pak is in PCBANKS\MODS, remove the original true colors and flora colors from MODS or they will conflict with the combined .pak.

Took a bit to do, but worked out a decent means to have an LUA for a custom palette MOD which nobody has reallydone before.  Will add to the .zip the next time the MOD is updated.  Will be able to re-create the MOD using AMUMSS without adding additional files, only the LUA.  Unfortunately won't be able to combine with say _MOD_DUD_GrassPlantSandRockColors_v3681, for example, because in this case, the game file uses fixed size arrays, so there is no adding new color schemes, only replacing what is there... has to be the same number of color groups per section.

Hi Exo, really enjoy your mods. I was wondering a few things. In stratos and abyss the Colours.mbins seem to handle added colors no problem, but every mod that I've see that alters the BASECOLOURPALETTES.MBIN keeps the same number of colors as the vanilla file. Is that necessary? If so how does your BASECOLOURPALETTES.MBIN compare to the pallette in Advanced Ship Colors Palette/Duds Sky Colors? Just asking because the ship palette mod has a visual of the vanilla palette and their modified palette.

Edit: Currently working on a personal use mod that incorporates many color mods, merged by hand. My current BASECOLOURPALETTES.MBIN is from your flora colors.

Edit2: Just compared 3 other BASECOLOURPALETTES.MBINs vs the one here. After planet hopping the system with each mbin being the one loaded, your is my favorite.

The Pallettes come in two basic forms, there's the type like basecolour which is locked to 64 possible single colors per category, and those like the Daayskycolours which can often be unlimited.

Thanks for the reply. Figured the basecolours had to be a set number. My personal use mod has the changes from all these mods. I call it All The Colours. Made my own lua files for the mbins not nested in follders.

Just note that GnomeAnn's 100k skies are so numerous compared to the other mods that they will almost completely override anything else even if you merge them perfectly correctly. IDK how you would want to do this but you might wanna take 1 out of every 20 from it at random.

Other than that, assuming your luas are using an additive approach properly, the only conflict I see is Abyss and Jason's water, each affect the Water global, may affect the same factors with different choices. His globals on my colors or vice versa might make odd results that are "out of sync with itself"

I have to figure out how to get the add to work with these colors. I have a few mods that I can use as examples when I have the ambition for that. For now, I have copies of my exmls, and in those the colors from each mod are labeled. Haven't seen anything too jarring yet. Although HG has some pretty jarring worlds sometimes on their own.

For the waterglobals.mbin, I don't have jason's water in there, but natural nights had some affect on it.
This is what went where .  I like to keep a working txt file of what I do. The below are lua file names. not all mods had ann lua,, so I compared exmls to the original and built my lua from there. The colours.mbins are just the new colors copy and pasted into the original exml and converted back to mbin. except the basecolours.mbin types.
Edit: Had me worried, checked duds water not the global, but the watercolours.
