Woo, I haven't played NMS in soooo loooong, lol! But gonna check out OMEGA and see what's up. While I do actually enjoy the storms (sort of, lol) on occasion, this mod makes them less annoying, hehe! ♥
Does this mod affect the "extreme weather" condition on planets ?
(Update ) I have my anwser : this mod disables the "Extrem Condition" weather on planets. Not only Storms, but also the extreme temperatures, for ex. So you won't be able to farm any Storm Crystals. This considered, it's a very pleasant mod, that makes the game waaaay more "chill".
I've never had any problem not finding any Storm Crystals while using this mod, albeit you won't get storms as often, but when a storm does hit, I've still managed to find Storm Crystals.
I'm having the same "Haze" issue as well. But it's more like a monotone or Sepia Toned Filter on the camera. the odd thing is, it doesn't happen on ALL planets. My home planet has blue ocean and looks fine. Then, I warped to another planet with a slightly bronze colored ocean that has a Parfinium Mine. But instead of just a slight tint to the water, everything, the water, base objects things in the ocean are all SEPIA toned (inside/outside) it doesn't matter. I KNEW something was off when I noticed the inner halo of the watertight door was Sepia instead of Green. When I deactivate this mod, all is back to normal. So some setting just doesn't jive with the latest NMSky update. I dunno about previous ones, I just started using this mod a few days after the Singularity update came out and had never tried it before. Vortex Mod manager makes it easy to activate/deactivate any of my mods in groups or individually. So, I deactivated all mods and reactivated each one separately to find the culprit, (I only have 5 or 6 Mods so it didn't take long). Guess I'll have to live with the storms until another solution presents itself. Eventually I'll try the AMUMSS route when I feel like tinkering. It's all a learning curve as I'm new to all this.
Sorry for the late reply. Didn't expect to get a reply, but I do appreciate it. Descriptors? Hmmm let me check... Well the discoveries page does say Blistering Damp for this planet under "Weather". Here's an image I uploaded that may be helpful, I dunno. Image on Google Drive Thanks for looking into this. The image has portal codes for the planet in question. It's located in the Euclid Galaxy so you should be able to find it. Cheers, Grendle63
Sorry, not on Discord. However, I'd love to try your test version and get in touch via email. I've setup a temporary folder with write privileges on my google drive where you can upload the test version. Upload the mod in the usual Mod Manager zip file along with an email I can contact you directly in a separate contact.txt file. Once I see the uploads, I'll wipe out my google folder and contact you via email. This will still keep things private and off the Nexus Mods site as well. Thanks again for all your help. If I can get this working, it will definitely be nice to play the game without those damn storms every 5 minutes! Link to new folder Grendle63 Folder
I sent you an email to the address you sent me with the results of your update in case you hadn't noticed or it went to spam. It's not from Grendle63 but look for that name in the Subject of the email and you'll find it. Enjoy your weekend and thanks again for working with me to figure this out.
Just wanted say to everyone that babscoole has officially resolved this issue as of version 4.34a, and I am personally endorsing him as an EXCEPTIONALLY helpful MODDER of the No Man's Sky NexusMods community.
I'm not the original author. He asked me to write an LUA for it and was going to hand it off to another person to take over, but that never happened. Kinda got stuck updating and keeping alive, lol. Give me a couple of days and I'll see if I can do anything about the haze.
Edit: I think I see where the haze is coming from. As these changes are overtly made by Zurls, I don't want to remove them for the published MOD, but if you come to the NMS Modding Discord (https://discord.gg/22ZAU9H) and DM me, we can try some custom versions for you. :)
Thank you for the quick response! I completely understand and agree with your decision to not make any changes since the haze effect may have been a creative choice by Zurls. I'll have to decline as Discord is a huge no go for me for various reasons, but I do appreciate that you're willing to take the time to find a solution for me. Thanks again!
No problem. Included with the MOD is an LUA script. This can be edited with a text editor. You can make the edits yourself and then use the LUA with AMUMSS to make your own custom version of the MOD. You would just need to comment out (double dash, --) things that you don't want to be changed.
For example, lines 44-45 {"FogStrength","0.1"}, {"FogColourStrength","5"},
Change to -- {"FogStrength","0.1"}, -- {"FogColourStrength","5"},
Just search for anything with Fog in it, comment out, then run through AMUMSS to create a custom .pak for yourself. :)
If that doesn't work, then I can temporarily post a custom version somewhere for you, but may need to try a few until we get it the way you want. :) If you want to go this route, probably best if we do through NexusMods forum messages (the email like DM thing).
Sadly, this mod is not working as intended on the current version. It seems to make all planets have hazard-free environments all the time.
It's possible this is a mod conflict problem, though I don't have anything else that's changing the weather. I do have other things that change global variables, is that likely the problem?
My goal: less frequent storms (like not every day) much longer storms (like all day or days)
can anyone advise how to do this with this lua? There are no default values and I am not sure if I can delete most of the lines in the lua. I will try some changes and see what I get.
Updated .pak posted and LUA added. Just a couple of caveats: - Currently untested in-game. Applies the exact same settings as the original MOD to current NMS version. - LUA MUST be run with version v3.9.5.97W or later of AMUMSS.
your Mod causes a annoing glitch in the Game. Even a Game Breaking one. Your Mod Creates a White Fog everywhere after i enter my Ship. Thats a Huge Problem for the Reason i cant see the Planet Surface after i pass the Clouds and if i travel the Planets surface i have a lot White Fog.
Thats Persistant on every Planet. I removed all Mods i have and Test them. But after i used your mod again the Fog comes Back.

If you remember, did the planet having this issue have one of the following descriptors:

You on Discord by chance? I've a test version to try, if you'd like. I'm Babscoole on Discord as well. Usually hang on the NMS modding discord server.

You can remove the sections from the LUA easy enough that are for everything other than that file.

Maybe you changed a wrong file?
