Hello, I was just wondering if this mod is working for current version? I don't play nms a lot because of the camera not being centered and someone recommended to try it, but using it with the mod manager (vortex) seems like nothing changed. Thanks in advance, the community appreciates your work.

gCam settings only affect the 3rd person camera. After a little investigation, I found out the following: for 1st person camera angles, you need to change the “MinFirstPersonCameraPitch” and “MaxFirstPersonCameraPitch” parameters. To summarize, i edited the script (added 2 lines): { PRECEDING_KEY_WORDS = "", VALUE_CHANGE_TABLE = { -- (22 other lines) {"MinFirstPersonCameraPitch", 89}, {"MaxFirstPersonCameraPitch", 89}, } },
Interesting, apparently some places they use third-person as the default with "FirstPerson" overrides, and sometimes it's the opposite. I'll add those lines to the script. Thanks.
That specific change is for when you start moving but the camera stays stationary, so it ends up far away. Do you want it farther away all the time, or just when you begin movement?
Not my post, but I noticed this as well and for myself I'd like to be able to have the camera a little further out all the time. (I think?) the game kind of zooms in automatically in tight spaces, and I'm fine with it, but when out and about I generally prefer to be a bit more zoomed out.
What I don't understand is that all these changes should keep the camera *more* zoomed out than vanilla. If things are getting more zoomed in, I need to knwo where and when so I can fix it. Please :)
The zoomed out image is without the mod. The zoomed in is with the mod. When I'm moving, the camera pulls back a little, but not much more than it is when I'm standing still.
It's entirely possible I mangled one or more choices the LUA asks me to make when it's run. I just started using AMUMSS to merge mods, so I may well have done something wrong somewhere, or it could be something from one of the other mods that I thought might be the camera mod option I mentioned in the OP.
What I'm basically trying to do is revert that zoomed in state back to 'vanilla'.
These are the mods currently merged together with AMUMSS, Mod authors in brackets, other than yours.

I just gave those a shot today during Exp2-Redux (since re-installing Windows somehow robbed me of credit for exps 1-4, way back when), and for me this newest version hit the sweet spot. I currently can't be arsed to AMUMSS it to slightly over the shoulder, which is my preference, but this is just high enough that I don't feel like I have to crane my neck to look in front of me. (Yes, I know that doesn't work. I can't help it. )

But the character cam is normal? I tried to go in and set the offsets but get camera snaps whenever I use my jetpack. I know its made to be configurable but its too much trial and error for ppl like us who dont know which settings to mess with.
If not, its cool, either way, excellent mod and along with all your others, totally appreciate the work you put in to make the game fun. Cheers.
is there a way to increase the camera distance to the character or perhaps lower it a bit? I find it feels to "zoomed in" for my tastes sometimes.
Edit: After playing around with some of the values in the lua I found I could adjust the camera the way I wanted, although I wish there was an easier way to test different offsets without having to rebuild in AMUMSS every time. Regardless, it works.
Can you tell me how you did this? I tried to merge with EnhancedThirdPersonCamera. Was centered but still zoomed in. Would love to know how to set it back further. Thank you :)
