Small note: Vortex pops a file conflict when installing both Private Landing Pads and Private Alternative Pads. Source is the install instructions.txt, as it's called the same in both archives. Obviously won't impact the performance of the mods themselves, but could be avoided entirely by just renaming one of the files. Thought you might like to know.
Was this more of a problem in earlier versions of NMS? I'm like 250 hours into my current NMS binge and I've never had an NPC land on any of my landing pads. I can see in the file archive I downloaded and used this mod like 5 years ago. Obviously I thought I needed it back then.
Are you going to update this mod? I really like it. I am no modder, too old for me to figure out, but I love playing with this mod in my mod box. I tried to use it, but it didn't work.Pleeeasse update, I really would like to use it again.
Thanks L02k, anyway to get this just to affect bases built, or ish not sure if its the mod. I tend to build if i can near trade hubs but since the mod turns off parking it seems they just loop my base, i do need to trade on occasion so would love them to land on the trade hub. Thanks!
Then use the alt version of the landing pad for private and do not use the main pads for private, this should open the trade hub and still give you a private pad.
I just noticed there was a setting for that named <Property name="CheckLandingAreaClear" value="True" /> So you can edit the .lua file to edit this setting to false and regenerate the mod. this could be your solution.
I just added a second mod to make alternative landing pads private. You can now choose to make the standard one or the atlernative one private (or both). Thanks for the heads up.
Is there any way to make a vice versa of this mod? I would like it if my landing pads filled up more often than they currently do at my base. Just curious if that is possible?
Could this somehow be extended in a way that AI ships are prevented to land on the same pad like you? for example: Many times when I land on a trading post, even though the landing pad was clear when I initiate the landing process, suddenly an AI ship lands on it at the same time. Very annoying! Also landing pads can still be landed on while another ship already sits on it. But I couldn't yet find the right section to modify that. Or maybe you've got an idea?

I wonder if it's possible to remove the "landing pad not clear" check
Specifically it seems to check for a path to the sky. This makes it impossible to build a landing pad underground
If it's possible, then it'd be reeeally cool to fly your ship into a cave entrance and land on your personal landing pad
So you can edit the .lua file to edit this setting to false and regenerate the mod.
