So I updated this mod. For future reference (this post is more for me in case I loose my project files again, as that was what took so long, but this can be used by you guys if I ever forget about this mod again) switching the colors around is very easy. Simply download NMS Mod Builder and install it. Simple enough if you can follow instructions. After creating a new project file, get TEXTURES\COMMON\SPACECRAFT\FRIGATES\SURFDETAIL.TEXTURE.MBIN and TEXTURES\COMMON\SPACECRAFT\FRIGATES\WARRIORTILED.TEXTURE.MBIN put into it and create an .xml for the two.
On line 15 of both .xmls, there is a line with the contents:
Simply change the "Alternative1" to "Alternative2", recompile the .xmls into new texture files, put it into a pak and bingo, bango! All done! Yes, it's really easy as changing a single number in two files. I'm not f*cking with you. Kill me now.
It's really simple, but for me who mods Fallout and Skyrim almost exclusively, it took me three weeks the first time and another week figuring it out again for this update. Hope this helps me in the future or you guys if I ever forget about this mod again.
Can we get an update for v5.0 worlds 1 please, I would like to make my fleet look uniform. This mod in it's current state (not up to date) just makes you drift through space endlessly (The loading in flight through space).
Having just applied this Mod, it did not appear to work exactly as expected. My Frigates are not matching my Freighter in Color scheme, and not to each other unless I bought them from the same fleet. Do I need to warp them into a new system for it to take full effect? This is the only Mod Im running. I am equally frustrated that this QoL element has not been developed properly into the game as a feature. If I can set color on the Freighter, it should apply to the entire fleet as a blanket action at the very least. Individual management of paint jobs ship by ship should be the goal.
Thank you so much for your time and effort in this. It's not something I've been able to use myself yet (since I only recently started playing) but this is the sort of mod that keeps people like me playing. Your rant in the description is perfectly on point and I couldn't agree with it more. I just wish the playerbase would show more appreciation for mods that fix the damn game like this, rather than the sort that lets them play creative mode in normal.
