I love these variants of mods you put out, though I wish there was an "inbetween" we could edit with the .luas. I saw this section in the .lua: { ["SPECIAL_KEY_WORDS"] = {"Type", "LIGHT",}, ["REMOVE"] = "SECTION", },
Could there be an optional that has it where you can edit the values of light and intensity? I actually like the glows but definitely feel they can be toned down some, at least on some like the sodium, oxygen, etc plants. Same with some crystals, but there is a .lua for the sodium and di-hydrogen ones you can edit. Do you think, at some point in the future, we could get an optional like that for the flora and crystals?
No rush, I feel like I'll be around here for 10 years or so, lol, hopefully. You've got a lot of great mods and have done so much already. I know it's gotta be hectic for you guys scramble to get things fixed after the updates (reading on the Modding Discord). This is actually one of the best and most active modding communities I've seen over the years. Thank you for your part in keeping it great!
Thanks for your kind words. I could indeed have just set INTENSITY to 0 and this would have give the possibility to tone down the light. But in a scope of saving computation, I prefered to remove the whole section, preventing any attempt at casting a light at 0, and saving a bit of loading time too. That's surely too most considerations for a tiny thing like this while so maybe other things are comuted in the game but I can't refrain myself from optimizing things each time I could :p
Ahh well that explains that. I do see a lot of mods and modders making various things to help with performance (guessing for older consoles and computers?)
I'm definitely in the more visuals crowd and being able to load a bit more with a decent rig, but I certainly understand the need for people to have these. A suggestion... perhaps you can tag the mods that help with performance so people looking for them can find them easier for a compilation of performance mods (like with "Performance" or similar) and for those that don't realize things like this might help? Still would be nice to see the options one day, lol. Thanks again Lo2k!
Would it be possible to reduce the glow instead of removing it? I like the fact that they glow, it gives them an otherworldly feel, but they are way too bright. Please consider it and thanks for all the awesome mods!
I use your no danger marks mod as well, and was wondering if it's possible to remove the red glow from the hazardous puffball plants in the caves. The red that lights up when moused over.
Hi, well, I'm using it in my day to day game and I don't have any issue... Are you sure the crash comes from this mod ? The best way to be sure is to test the game with no mod at all and then with only this mod, and see the result.
Thank you for this!!! The glowing plants REALLY break immersion. I'd love to see an update that removes the glow from all cooking plants, farming plants, and hazardous plants (leaving only the bioluminescent ones).
I noticed they added new plants (for cooking recipes) with light too. I will see if I fix them too or keep them as is. They are not that essential though.
