Confirming that it works like a charm, and huge thank you for that! While the performance issues while playing via wine/proton were resolved long ago, I have few supermobile computers based on Intel Celeron N4100 (and derivatives, like J4105), with UGH 600 IGPUs - where I was able to make NMS work completely playably - EXCEPT the damn blur in menus and conversations, which was bringing framerate to a halt. With your splendid work, all those issues are gone.

After the 3.0 update while this mod doesn't prevent the game from loading, it no longer does anything (on my system anyways, with no other mods used, or in combination with ones that didn't conflict before, in /MODS subfolder and disablemods.txt deleted, of course).

It seems like this isn't something many people need/care about, but for me, I really appreciated it as I could play on my laptop with surprisingly good settings, the only issue being this DOF effect, which just suddenly obliterates the framerate, haha. I wish there was a simple option to disable ALL depth of field effects via an in-game menu like all the other typical options they did include, but c'est la vie, I guess...

Regardless, thanks for your work so far on this!

I can confirm this mod is still working, I'm currently using it. This mod only removes the DOF effect from your menus, such as Multitool, Exosuit, Starship, Freighter, ect., including all the tabs...Cargo, Tech, and such. So for example if you're in the middle of something and you pull up your Multitool menu you still have a nice clear view of what's going on behind the menu as opposed to a blurry swipe. Very nice.

Now what you're looking for is the mod named No DOF Blur currently at version 2.7:

      https://www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/mods/1111

This mod removes the DOF effect from all dialogues...which is everything else! I recommend to use both as they don't conflict for the smoothest and cleanest experience.

Thanks for taking the time to create this fix and sharing! The FPS drop in the menus was awful to endure while playing this game through proton.
