"I have turned off some of the settings because they made the strain on my eyes worse." - Yeah right, i can smell that lie through your teeth. The whole thing is practically off and there's nothing wrong with your eyes. And this does not strain the eyes. If it did, I wouldnt have made it so. This is literally the End's Beginning, featuring my setting via tickboxes with their effects turned to 0. So, my hunch was right. This is the guy from the other vid (the guy in the comment section of White_Noise) , with spite. My goodness, what a world. And it's the same with your screenshot too lol. You guys sure have a lot of time on your hands to dedicate throwing shade towards my reshade lol. Pun intended, lol
Literally would not doubt it if this other guy in the comment section wasn't your accomplice, lol
This is my ReShade in the same area. Let anyone watching judge lol (YouTube has to finish processing the HD):

Came as a friend to then pump full of spiteful venom in the end. You tares, are gonna get it lol. May the Lord reward you according to Retribution. I'll leave your pic up though, its amusing. This whole thing is amusing. And why can't people make beautiful black characters? They always make em flawed and ugly.
thankyou freyá it solved all of my issues i had, pcgamer stop talking out of your ass, neither of us have criticized your preset nor are we accomplices. stop getting angry for no reason
please forgive my stupidity on this subject, but i having a couple issues.
issues: almost everything in the UI is surrounded by a black boxes and some ui elements are blurry lighting is very intense, and look as though all lighting is just some menu elements(particularly the settings menu) turn to almost pure white
i did find these were responsible for the UI black boxes and blurring of some of the elements MXAO.fx qUINT_MXAO.fx qUINT_dof.fx
The reason for the black boxes is simple, the reshade for some reason doesn't point to the correct D3D11 for your res.
So when you're in game, simply press HOME go to the tab that says dx3d11 in the top of the Reshade menu, and select one of the ones that has your res. Mine is 1920x1080 so i choose one of those.
NOTE: you will see multiple ones its okay to click through them to find the one that works.
I thought you were here to save the day, but what youre saying doesnt relate to his issue. That wouldve dealth with MXAO or RTGI. I have to see what this guy is talking about.
Edit: And, the Holy Spirit told me you ain't here to save the day lol. What's done in the dark will always be brought to the light. Let this be a lesson to any wheat reading. Those people who pose as your friends and are close to you as friends, are the ones that arent actually your friends.
Edit: it was revealed and set in stone that he was not here to save the day lol.
Yeah, I racked my brain trying to figure out what the issue was way before I made this ReShade preset, lol. Glad you got some help. And thanks! Happy Gaming!
I just glimpsed it and pressed the tick but it disappeared. I'm on mobile so idk what's going on, I'll go on pc and see if it's there and if it's just a mobile thing. If it disappeared, just post it again.
Edit: it's still there. It's gonna stay right there, hang on. I'll make a beautiful black character too and put her right next to yours. Odds are youre gonna hit me with arbitrary dogmas to justify your character's ugly appearance. And I'll go the extra mile and name her Medical Freya, just to commemorate you, lol.
Hi, I really like this Reshade -- good job ! How does it impact the performance and is it possible to make the UI clearer? Its really hard to see your HP, KI etc.
Thanks! First I'll tackle the Frame Rate question.
Short story minus 15-17fps.
Long story -
Bear with me here, I gotta explain some stuff. Dont worry there aren't any parlor tricks or swindling.
My game is locked at 60fps even if I set it to 120fps (and no, I don't have vsync on), so I don't know the performance drop to a max extent, also, this game also runs via cpu cycles. So, if you set the frame rate to 60fps and can't maintain a constant 60fps you get "slow mo" lag. So with that said, setting the game's fps to 30 solves the slow mo lag thing. So if your pc can't maintain a constant 60fps you're gonna be stuck with a default 30fps via the in game configuration in order to keep the slow mo lag thing from happening.
With all that mumbo-jumbo outta the way, this ReShade drops fps from a constant locked 60, to 45-47fps (but it depends on the area and what's going on, it might drop to 43fps). But that's not entirely accurate, since that slow mo lag thing is there, it moves, as the label says, in slow mo. Due to cpu cycles.
So to wrap it up with a nice bow, its a default 30fps with this ReShade. But, this is fishy, because with RTGI enabled, I usually lose around 17fps, but with this, it doesn't shy away from 45fps, so I get a around 30fps (since it's locked to not exceeding 30). So it's something to do with that cpu cycle thing. For the most, with RTGI enabled, I lose around 3-4fps with this preset. Which is hella weird. I forgot to mention that slow-mo thing in the description of this ReShade. I mentioned it in the other one though.
But, I just remembered, that I configured the ReShade while the game was locked at 30fps (which was a mistake), lol. So yeah, if you don't mind 30fps, this is it. Call me weird, but your eyes adjust to it. Hence why I made the mistake of configuring the ReShade while it was set to 30fps thinking it was still at 60. Should've seen my face when I was thinking, "dude the performance isn't dropping!"
(the videos are 30fps for any elitist out there lol. Don't know how YouTube says its 60. You can tell if you look at it or compare it to a 60fps video that it's actually 30.)
Thanks for jogging my memory though lol.
Specs:
i5-7600k - OC to 4.8Ghz GTX-1070 16GB DDR4
My pc is over 3yrs old, so you guys with newer systems should fair better. Edit: I'll add this to the description.
Sound like you didn't read the text above the video.
"(Note: Just uploaded them, YouTube hasn't finished processing the HD versions yet, that usually takes a couple hours. They also dropped a bucket of darkening on them again. Check screenshots for a more accurate representation. Give it a few hours before you watch it, it will not look good. It'll look like a black mess. It's as I said, rely on the screenshots for now. When it finishes processing I'll remove this body of text. I don't know why YouTube always darkens my videos and drops their quality.)
Using Nvidia's GeForce Experience to record, sometimes it records lag and stutter even though there isn't any present as I'm playing. Update/Edit: yeah, YouTube botched it up, its hella dark... just rely on the screenshots."
But, odds are this has to do with your screen's brightness. I see em fine (in game). They aren't too dark etc.
But, there are 2 settings in the ReShade menu called vignette and artistic vignette (if I remember correctly) Just adjust the strength to your liking.

Here's a video showing how to fix the Black Bar UI :)
You can see me switch to Pale Start in the video, I have turned off some of the settings because they made the strain on my eyes worse.

please help PCGamer
specs are:
r7 3800x 3.9ghz 8c 16thrd
Rx 5700 XT Oc 8gb
32gb ram
And menu elements do not "turn pure white"
Second the previous videos were not reflective of the reshade, hence why there is a text above those videos.
I removed those 2 videos, but they can be still be seen here:

3rd, this sounds like a problem specifically dealing with you.
So with the mandatory jargon outta the way:
Reinstall ReShade, and drop it in it again.
Link some screenshots or video and let's see if we can fix it.
Edit: I'm here to help mate, don't forget I made this for u guys.

Set my max at 120 >:C which was the issue!
Secondly, thank you for the amazing preset, the screenshots look AMAZING so i cant wait to see in game
