1.01 works fine, but 1.02 does not, have tried everything. Would like to use the camera distance option from 1.02. This is on Steam latest game version 1.28.08. Thanks.
Did you delete the old dinput8.dll and config.txt? You need to replace them with the new versions. To be clear, 1.02 no longer uses config.txt. Instead, it uses Nioh2CameraConfig.txt and it should be inside the DLLMods folder (along with Nioh2CameraConfig.dll).
If you did all this, then what isn't working about it? Does the game crash? Does it load in game? What happens if you edit the values in Nioh2CameraConfig.txt and then hit save?
I also have the same issue where the mod seems to do nothing at all. And I never had a previous version of the mod. So idk why it wont work even after saving (the txt) and save reloading. It's not crashing or anything it just doesn't affect the game in any way.
Yes tried it on a fresh install, and as C1ov3rr said it just doesnt load at all and changing the txt does nothing either. I also tried 1.00 out of curiosity but with that the game wont even start, so 1.01 is the only version that works. So maybe it's something about the type of dinput8.dll 1.01 has that you could try to integrate with 1.02?
I just uploaded a new version now. It should work for all of you. The problem was that one of the new state checkers I used would change if the users PC restarted (and I hadn't tried restarting my PC when I made 1.02). Sorry!
Thanks so much for taking the time! Excellent mod btw
EDIT: Found one new issue, if you loot anything the mod stops working for the rest of that game session. Going back to title menu re-enables the mod. Hope that helps.
Sadly this is a bigger problem than anticipated. I spent about 5 hours working on 1.04 but it's still not perfect and more of a band-aid fix for now. It should work most of the time but there may be a few areas in the game where the FOV/Camera Distance reset. I'll try to mess with it more but this at least works in most areas for now. (If you start a new character, the FOV/CD should apply when you walk forward a little bit.)
EDIT: I couldn't help myself so I went back and found a more stable state checker. 1.05 should allow for FOV and CD edits everywhere in the game without breaking during cutscenes, menu pages, or doing things in game. I've also added a toggle for enabling the game's original ADS FOV + zooming in. You can toggle it on or off in the .txt file.
If all goes to plan, I won't be touching this mod again for a while.
EDIT 2: Changing weapons while using the new toggle will break the FOV. Don't use it for now.
thank you so much for all the hard work! really makes the game a better experience for me, I feel bad saying this, but I'm still experiencing random crashes. mostly during cut scenes, loading screens, or when going into a yokai realm i believe. Really appreciate the effort and would be willing to donate if that would help.
It's no problem! I'm glad that you're enjoying it.
I'll try to take another look at it either this weekend or next weekend. It's currently using a lot of timers so if your PC is too slow or too fast then it's probably applying changes at the wrong times. I'm hoping to find the internal FOV addresses at some point instead of just overriding the entire camera FOV, but for now this is how it is sadly.
Thanks for the work! I'll be reverting back to v1.01 due the frequent crashes. Crashing when loading or leaving a level, when dodging out of the aim range weapon animation, when perform inputs quickl such as manual parry disabling sword's low dash attack, etc. I only had to reset the FOV on v1.01 when getting grabbed by certain enemies or after ending the grapple animation for Otakemaru. Looking forward to next update if or when you get the time. Have a good one.
I would really like to but it's not as easy to do as the FOV unfortunately. When I get some time, I want to come back to this project but it might be a while sadly.

Nvm - it's in basic game settings
It will probably be pretty tough to play since the camera distance is so high. Maybe one day I can figure that out too.
What about 55% and 60%?
(Edit) Nvm! Found the option to turn off those cinematic camera during those finishing moves!
