no just the regular spiders, I dont have have an ideas or a proper model to replace them with - giant slime bosses may make them harder to read and fight in general - let alone the wonky animations
well i would need to find the stages where spiders are present which isnt too often . the map where i showcased the mod doesn't really have any besides the "webbed bridges" you walk on
I kept track of which story missions had it as I played through the game, here's the ones I've found so far shadow - bird in a cage, spiders and webs in the caves and the castle dawn - the sun sets on mount tenno, webs in the cave after the second(?) shrine and in the building that the ladder in the cave leads up to afterglow - in the eye of the beholder, webs all over the first half of the map darkness in the capital - the blighted gate, spiders and webs after the second shrine, also the boss is a giant humanoid spider but it didn't bother me too much edit: I found this list of probably most if not all the spider appearances, webs are probably a given too https://www.reddit.com/r/Nioh/comments/lrnlar/spiders_in_nioh_2_a_list_with_missions_that_have/
i have a question and a suggestion does this mod work with, Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition? I know the complete edition comes with DLC and I know one of the DLCs has a huge spider boss and i want to know if this mod works with the dlc/Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition and replaces the spider model in the dlc
To avoid the risk of encountering ants when testing if the mod is installed correctly, I propose a safer alternative. Consider renaming a common item in the game. For example, if every player has an “Apple” in their inventory, why not change its name to “The Apple” or “New Apple”? This simple name change could serve as an indicator that the mod is functioning properly, eliminating the need to venture into ants-infested areas for confirmation!!!
Nioh 2 on PC is only the complete edition there is no version of Nioh 2 on PC that dont have the dlcs - so yeah the mod should work if done correctly
the DLC spider boss is humanoid and not an actual spider - he still looks a bit scary but this mod does not change him in anyway - if I would to make him a slime he would be harder to fight unless a player is is hacking and one shotting bosses
The fasted ways to see if the mod is working is - unfortunately
is to encounter a spider in a mission - if its a slime then its working if not - there may be an issue with the installation on
if you already killed one at some point - go to the camp/hub/ or your homebase - and look in the yokai gallery and search for the spider yokai and see if its a slime
you should test other unrelated mods 1st to get the understanding how they work then attempt to use this one if your unsure - if its still not working it could be the in-game settings but I think I patched most of them already
because modding this game dosent work that way - you need to see(the spiders) because its mesh mod not a text mod - If I mod a text saying its working - its just means the text is working but I/you cant confirm that the spiders are slimes unless you see them which is the point of the mod. if you cant muster up the strength to see if mod in effect then I cant fix that. I also cant change they way they sound,
just enable the mod(download and place it in the mod folder) - press f10 to refresh if the game was already booted up - go to gallery see if the spider is a slime - if not there could be an issue of the mod itself or you didnt place it in the mod folder correctly - but we cant get to that point unless you confirm this.
after you encounter a spider and perhaps kill it for the 1st time - you can go to your base/hub/camp/home - and go select the -> Yokai Illustrations to see the model of all the enemies you encounter or just play a mission where they spawn and check that way
ok i get it, but i wanted to ask if i installed the mod correctly because i didnt understand your instructions
i first downloaded nioh 2 mod manager and then after i downloaded your mod I unzipped it and i saw a folder called Spider, that folder i placed in my nioh2 mods folder. i didnt unzip or move the other files that came with the mod "color options" and "revert to web options main folder"
so in my mods folder its only this one folder called "Spider" is that the correct way of installing the MOD? will the in game spiders be replaced with slimes now? and i looked at some gameplay of the DLC boss Tsuchigumo and while he is standing he doesnt look like a spider that much but jumps around a lot and when he is on his back he looks like a spider and is terrifying so its a bit disappointing that mod doesnt change him.
yeah thats it - you drop the spider folder in mod folder - this applies to pretty much any mod for this game. you boot up the game or press f10 to refresh mods if your already in-game when swapping mods.
I didnt mod the boss because hes quite difficult to fight if you can see his attacks - and if a player is one shotting bosses (cheating) then there only going to see the him for like 5 seconds so overall it wasn't worth the trouble to mod him. hes not that recurring compared to the normal spiders so hes less important.
I don't understand the installation. I have set the "Spider" folder, do I now need to select a color from the "color options" archive? It is not written whether it is requirement or not. And what does "main folder" mean? The main folder of the game or the "mods" folder (the same folder is the main one for mods) or the "Spider" folder in the "mods" folder. In the installation it says that I need to first press F10 on the start screen, and then select one of the files (color options or another?) in MOD(Spider folder?), I don't understand why in that order. I am not lazy but sorry I'm not going to choose selection method for сorrect insertion of files and folders all of this, because I won't be able to find out if I've installed the mod correctly, until the moment I meet spider or slime if I didn't install the mod correctly, I'll be sent to best world when I meet a spider.
after you download the nioh 2 mod enabler < which provides the mod folder you download the mod and place it in the mod folder then you press f10 to refresh the mods, if your still in-game or before you start the game up ( then you dont need to press f10) then the other color options can be dropped or copy and pasted to the main folder -> the slime mod main folder (Spider folder) - then you press f10 to refresh the changes if in game
then the revert webs options - due to me changing the color of the webs for the slime - it also changes other lighting in the game - so if you dont like that then you copy the contents of that zip file and drop it in the Spider folder
you can always check the gallery (the spider) if the mod is working without starting a stage - but if its too much to even look at the spider to confirm that then RIP. I guess you wont be completing the few stages with spiders then
Sorry for the embarrassment. I forgot to tell that the Mod Enabler I already installed and other mods installed... Well, when it comes to phobias, my head does not work well. I know about the gallery, but only those opponents who have already met appear there. Anyway, It's really rip for me, I love snakes like kittens, also mouses and bats, but spiders... smooth, somewhat graceful and very frightening. I'm very-very sick... Thank you very much for your patience and clarification.

Or does it just change the way it looks?
they are both very spider like and very creepy
shadow - bird in a cage, spiders and webs in the caves and the castle
dawn - the sun sets on mount tenno, webs in the cave after the second(?) shrine and in the building that the ladder in the cave leads up to
afterglow - in the eye of the beholder, webs all over the first half of the map
darkness in the capital - the blighted gate, spiders and webs after the second shrine, also the boss is a giant humanoid spider but it didn't bother me too much
edit: I found this list of probably most if not all the spider appearances, webs are probably a given too https://www.reddit.com/r/Nioh/comments/lrnlar/spiders_in_nioh_2_a_list_with_missions_that_have/
