1. Get HxD (https://mh-nexus.de/en/). That's a hex editor that lets you change value's in save files. 2. Go to Documents\Koei Tecmo\NinjaGaidenSigma\bunchanumbers\savepoint 3. Open the save file you want to edit with hxd 4. Go to search/go to or press Ctrl+G. For offset, type in 03906D (listed in txt file at the very top). 5. This will take you to the relevant block. 6. A few lines further down, there's a bunch of FF's denoting whereafter your inventory starts.
7. After the FF's you can use my list to remove or add items to your inventory. Pls be sure to abide by the correct formating for the 8 digit hex codes, as crudely indicated here. (Do not delete the highlighted 00E00001. This is the code for a hidden technique scroll that allows you to running light attack. If you delete this, you'll T-Pose rather than do running light attacks)
8. Save the file after making changes. 9. Load your savegame. 10. Enjoy.
I recommend using the first part of the list that is ordered by item type to add items, and the second part that is ordered numerically to identify items you already have in your inventory - so you know what the hell you are looking at / so you know what you are deleting.
It's really up to you to be creative and come up with possible challenge runs with this tool.
I got to step 6 and I don't understand how to use your codes. I don't see those codes in the save file ( I see what you posted in your screen shot) and I don't see how to determine where these addresses begin and end to edit them. Are your codes the addresses themselves and you change a true/false bit? Or are you supposed to add these weapon codes into a particular place?
Items are refered to by an 8 digit hex code. All you see after the long FF string I marked in picture 1, is your inventory. Any 8 digit code displayed corresponds to an item that is currently in your inventory.
The red brackets I drew correspond to the general formatting of the 8 digit hex codes. Meaning every red box denotes an item with an 8 digit hex code. This formatting repeats in every line. It's always the same in every line.
You can look up any 8 digit code you see in there in my list, to find out what item it indicates. Then you can decide to remove it, or change the amount or quality of it, using my list.
If you want to add an item, look up the hex code for it, and put it in there, according to the formatting / red boxes. If you do not abide by the red boxes, it doesn't work. 00000000 means empty.
I was able to get the melee weapons working (I was overlapping address slots before), however the projectile weapons aren't working for me. I tried AF cores (both 15 and infinite) but it just shows the bow with zero arrows. Are later bows dependent on previous ones being in your inventory? Do I need to add the bows separately from the arrows?
Bows need at least two 8 digit hex codes. The BOW itself is SEPERATE from the arrows - and BOTH need to be in your inventory. You can't use one without the other.
So, for example for explosive arrows - you need to input the code for the explosive BOW. Then add another 8 digit code for the explosive arrows. I'm gonna update the list soon to make it a little more intuitive. Guilty Gaming is als about to make a video tutorial on how to use the list. I'll add the video here.
The only bows that share arrows are the Strongbow and the regular bow. They both use the same hex code for arrows.
Also: The technique scroll: shooting is not necessary to use any projectile weapons whatsoever. It's purely a cosmetic item meant to tell new players how to press Circle/B.
No - I didn't even get around to play Sigma 2 yet - let alone do anything to it.
Your hex codes were plenty of fun to use, and it made the game even more amusing. I also discovered one could make their own hex chains, thereby avoiding a complex cut-paste process. Speaking of Sigma 2, I wouldn't be surprised if the answers happened to be inside the Chapter Challenge files, since every weapon is available in this mode. The problem is, I suck at data-mining and hex-reading, so I can only guess...
Nevermind, figured out that if I can find an item unique to Rachel, then the code follows the same sequence of FFs and I can add items to inventory no problem.
Thank you great work. I used this on PS3 though I had to change the hex coding a little. eg. PC hex code for true dragon sword is 00C90001 PS3 is 0000C901. PC Plasma Saber Mk 2 - 00F70001 - PS3 is 0000F701.
