Hi, the "Ninja Gaiden Sigma Enhanced" mod also restores Ayane's voice and it has 18 audio files more (ay_kunai40 - ay_kunai45). Did you miss them or are they unused?

EDIT: Nvm, those are actually already in the game files.

Ok, it worked! Extract the files from the Ayane's voice restored .rar file using 7zip. Then open the new browsable folder for Ayane's Voice Restored. Cut or copy all of the files within. Then navigate to "This PC," then "Program files (x86)," then "steam," then "steamapps," then "common," then "[NINJA GAIDEN Master Collection] NINJA GAIDEN Σ," then "databin," then finally "bgm" and place all of the files into that folder as suggested.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\[NINJA GAIDEN Master Collection] NINJA GAIDEN Σ\databin\bgm

One note, the files with the same name already seem to exist in the bgm folder but I guess they are inactive. Your Pc will ask you if you want to replace the files with the same name. DO IT. And your mod will finally work.

Wow I miss hearing Ayane's bratty voice. It's actually soothing on occasion when she's being nice. Too bad in most of her depictions she acts like an insufferable teenager. Never mind, it's pretty funny. Thats how I really feel.

Man, I would be much more comfortable using a .pak file and installing it into Fluffyquack of Vortex then messing around with the hieroglyphics of the datafiles myself.

Think I'm going to try it anyway. God, I hope I don't mess anything up.

Big brother, can you voice the content of the new Ayane 40-45? Your voice effect is the best! Thank you

Thanks friend, I had downloaded the other one, from another author, and I noticed an annoying squeak at the beginning of each narration, but yours is perfect, thank you very much for that! I'm also Romhacking, I do some mods too, I know how to value a job well done, congratulations... Do you think you can find a way to replace the orb obtaining sound for the original Sigma? the Master Collection is different unfortunately...

Sorry to ask, but is there any difference between this and the other voice restoration mod available?

      1. I uploaded this first and a day later the mod author for that one uploaded their’s which is literally the exact same thing as mine.

      2. They updated their’s after mine seemingly without reason (possibly to appear first on the page before mine, hence more views and downloads).

      3. All of their audio has an annoying static hiss on initial open of all kunai.

      4. My file sizes are slightly larger (I extracted all the files, properly named them all, and then converted them), not sure how they did their files.

This mod is amazing thank you for doing this.

Also I'm not sure who to ask for this...but is there anyway we can get someone to restore Ryu's blue/purple ninja outfit for chapter 1 and 2 I noticed when I started a new game on very hard I was already wearing the Badass Black Falcon outfit at the start.....I was like huh. it makes more sense to start with his traditional outfit.

    Great job! Thanks.

I was trying to fix 2 fmvs, d_aruma.wmv (Alma 1st fight) and pre_movie13.wmv (Fiend Murai), that have music that continues in the gameplay. These are the NGB versions. However in NGS they changed the in-game tracks, but in this Master Collection (and in NGS+ on psvita) they put the NGB fmvs instead of the ps3 NGS, so the fmv music and the in-game music don't match anymore.
I tried ripping the audio of both videos from the ps3 ver, deleting the audio from the pc version videos, and mixing pc videos with ps3 audios together. But while in the video editing program (shotcut) I can hear the audio, in-game the fmv is silent.
I think the problem is that pre_movie13 has both the english and the japanese tracks mixed into one track in the pc ver, but I can't mix the tracks I've extracted from the ps3 ver (pre_movie13 and pre_movie12_j) in any video editing program I found.
I have a savegame right at ch 19, so I can only test pre_movie13, but since that doesn't work, most probably d_aruma doesn't work either.

Any advice on how to do it?

    Thanks again

It’s funny you posted this, because I’ve been trying to convert the NGB fmvs the past couple of days, but have had nothing but problems. As you probably know the wmvs in the Master Collection are over cropped, so using the NGB ones would show more of the image. One of the main problems I have with the NGB fmvs though is it seems all sfd files have really bad coloring issues when ripped to pc, I’m not sure what the issue is, but they look way worse than they ever did on console and are very oversaturated.

I ended up getting the sfd files used for OG Sigma, but even those ones, while being a bit less cropped, have slightly worse quality than the Master Collection. It makes me wonder if they did somehow improve the quality for the Master Collection outside of being poorly cropped. The only one that has very poor quality for the Master Collection compared to Black is the opening cutscene with the dark dragon blade and dragon sword.

Anyway to get to your question the reason it’s silent in game does have to do with there being two tracks, one for Japanese and English. If you have vlc you can select and listen to each one when watching the wmvs. What happens is when you delete out the old audio, your deleting out both tracks. Mixing in the new audio and converting the video will make it only have one track. When playing with the Japanese language selected in game track 1 will play in the cutscenes and with English track 2 will play in cutscenes. I’m assuming you’re playing in English, so your game has no track 2 to play causing it to be silent.

In order to add both tracks to one video, you can use a tool called mkvtoolnix. You drag in your video and the two audio files and then convert to mkv. The next step is where I’ve been having issues. When converting to wmv most programs won’t let you keep both audio files for whatever reason. I only found one so far called Movavi Video Converter Premium 20. Using this though I’ve had countless little issues that ruin the audio. I tried to do what you did with the Alma cutscene and have the Sigma music play, but after converting with this program the resulting wmv cuts the audio short. Also when I tried converting the opening cutscene there was a delay at the beginning for the audio, causing that to also get cut short.

Anyway that was a bit of a long rant, but hopefully that helps you out. If I find a program that can effectively convert to wmv and keep both audio files without ruining them I’ll let you know. Also if you find one please let me know.

Thank you!!! mkvtoolnix was what I was missing. As shotcut wouldn't let me keep both tracks when converting to wmv, I resorted to a simple online converting tool called cloudconvert. I selected the maximum video quality and in a few minutes I had a wmv video with both the audio tracks.
The problem is that even if the new video is 1:27 long, the game will play only up to the original video's lenght, that is 1:23. So the passage to in-game is still a bit jarring.
I suspect that the setting that regulates a video's lenght is stored somewhere in the game's exe, but not knowing what to edit and how to look for it makes it a lot more difficult. IF the values are even stored there.

If I had a save right before Alma in ch 9 I could test d_aruma. As both the pc and the ps3 versions have the same lenght of 34 sec, if the video has been encoded well and it's really just a matter of finding the video lenght values inside the exe, d_aruma should play perfectly as it did on ps3.

Sadly they messed up a lot of basilar things in this "MC"... In the ch 3 boss fight on the blimp the rain particles are invisible while they're present in the other versions, while in Sigma 2 it's not possible to launch into izuna drop anymore with some weapons!

Please let me know if you find something about the video lenght (or any of these bugs).
