how do I get the optional MXAO working? I downloaded the linked requisites and have placed them where they should be, but when I enable MXAO in ReShade it makes zero difference. Any suggestions?
This was due to a human error on my end, lol. If you've experienced this or weak AO, download the qUINT repository again and replace the previous downloaded shaders. I linked a version different from the one I used... Sorry about that
If that replaces the files, that's not a problem right? I downloaded the reshade installer, and did the already two ticked ones on it, done and done. After just pasted the files from here on the game folder, replacing the reshade ones.
I have the RTGI mod, but when i enable on Reshade i see no difference besides a litte AO on the grass. Plus the ground was red until i changed the "sky color" to black. Are you sure RTGI is configured on this preset? Edit: I'm using the latest RTGI 0.17.0.2 version.
RTGI has gone through major changes, I assume thats why. I don't remember when or with which version I made this preset, sorry :/ I've removed that line from the description now.
I see, that's okay. Thanks for the fast reply man! Idk why but the line "If you happen to own Pascal Gilcher's RTGI, it's configured in this preset too" is still on the description though.
You add the "guide" by simply posting the linkts to specialk instructions but it really isn't cleary enough, i installed speciallk locally by putting the specialk6 .dll on the game folder and renaming it properly to dxgi.dll, later i open the second link for the specialk+reshade and when i try to install reshade on replicant it says that there is already a a dxgi.dll existing so... and what do I do with the files? i drop them on the game foder after i have specialk but nothing changes.
Try the alternative method on the ReShade link. That page changed. Usually there was a different way of using both together, but that doesn't work anymore. That said, the alt. version does seem pretty straight forward as long as you do the steps in the correct order.. I'll swap the links around.
I linked a guide to install SpecialK & SK + ReShade. SpecialK fixes most(?) issues the game has and has no drawbacks, so I'd recommend you give it a shot.
Sorry, I didn't even realize I didn't say where to put the files.. nobody made me aware either lol So when you're at step 6 of the SK + ReShade guide, drop my files in there instead of the ReShade installer. From there you can skip to 15.

Try the folder where the game's .exe is, should work.
