Simple mod to remove the camera lens flare effect since unlike most games NieR Automata doesn't have a setting for it
The effect is mostly found in the desert area.
The shader version is a complete removal of the effect while the texture version removes it only partially.
- Special K for the texture injection and shader edit
For local SpecialK installation: (if you use NAMH or followed my guide you probably have this installation)
- Download the shader variant of the mod in the download section.
- Extract the file "d3d11_shaders.ini" in your NieR Automata root folder.
Note: If you already have a d3d11_shader.ini there, merge the changes from this to your own file.
For global SpecialK installation:
- Download the shader variant of the mod in the download section.
- Extract the file "d3d11_shaders.ini" in your "<path-to-SpecialK>\Profiles\NieRAutomata™\" directory.
Note: If you already have a d3d11_shader.ini there, merge the changes from this to your own file.
Texture variant:
- Download the texture variant of the mod in the download section.
- Extract the folder "5_Camera-Lens-Flare-Begone" from the zip into your ".\SK_Res\inject\textures\" directory.
Note: Order doesn't matter since I am pretty sure there is no other mod which edits the same files.
- Maybe, for the texture version, there are some locations where the camera lens flare effect may still be present, if you find them, please report them to me here.
- You can install both at the same time but I am 99% sure the shader variant alone is enough.
- Your <path-to-SpecialK> is probably "C:\Users\<user>\Documents\My Mods\SpecialK"
- More info on SpecialK installations/configurations here.
