That doesn't really make sense. Did you correctly replace the original cutscene files with the upscaled ones? If you did, and they are playing, it should mean LodMod is getting loaded correctly (as when it isn't, the upscaled cutscenes wouldn't play and would be skipped). But then you should be able to tell the difference unless you're playing at low resolution. But there's no way for the cutscenes to look like the original ones unless you somehow still have the original ones in place.
Pardon my computer ignorance, I tested the video playback by watching the main menu cutscene and its in slow motion. Is this an GPU or CPU problem, and which specifics (eg, not enough VRAM or not powerful enough GPU, not enough Clock speed on CPU or not enough Cores etc). I play on a laptop 3050 with an i5 11th Gen.
The cutscene playback seems to depend on the CPU. Do you mean the cutscene which plays when you don't hit any key for a while after getting to the menu? If so, that one is 60fps (just like the original) while also having pretty high bitrate peaks, so it is likely more demanding than the rest which is 30. Do you have the same issue even with 1440p version of this cutscene? And what about the rest, do they play fine (1440p versions at least) or also not full speed? If it's just that specific main menu cutscene, that one is pretty unimportant and you could just keep the original version of it (it's ev1400.usm and ev1402.usm), if even the regular cutscenes aren't full speed then not much can be done apart from better CPU.
Thanks for the MOD. I got it all to work together with both the Nier HD Textures mod which requires FAR / SpecialK and the PS4 buttons mod. I can confirm the start menu cutscene works. But I now can't get my PS5 controller to work with the game. My PS5 controller works just fine before I installed this mod specifically. I used Steam Input to get my controller working initially.
Anyone know of a fix or has encountered this before?
Hey, Yes I too had this issue if keeping the default filename for LodMod's dll (xinput1_4.dll). The solution is to name it dxgi.dll or dinput8.dll - in my case I use dinput8.dll for SpecialK and dxgi.dll for LodMod.
Hello :) Is there any way to load lodMod but "disable" its functions ingame? It really tanks fps, whilst not achieving anything visually on my setup, but i do need it for your very beautyful Cutscenes. What i mean is, download lodmod, enable it for your videos but disable all its in-game effects and whatnot.
You can since all options in LodMod are optional. In the LodMod.ini file you can set many thing to false or 0 to disable the function. There are descriptions in there for each item. You still need the dll to load but the ini handles what is turned on.
The setting that handles movies is MovieMultiplier. Look for that in the LodMod.ini file and you can read. It's usually set to -1 that lets the mod handle it. The other option is EnableH264 but that is only if you are using h264 encoded movies. It will explain it.
This one should be same as above except it enables the main benefit of LodMod (disabled object LODs): https://www.mediafire.com/file/mpc2t6i6si0ug4s/LodMod.ini/file - not sure how demanding disabled object LODs are but this is the one setting I would use if performance is not an issue
It's been a long time since the last time I played N:A, and this time, I thought I'd give it a try, but modded in a lore-friendly manner. As a long time Skyrim player, and a modder myself there, I don't know why I didn't do this before, but here we are, haha.
Thanks for this mod, I've a question though. I've always played Automata in japanese, and I have the game set in japanese, but the intro video appears to be in English.
Edit: TLDR version - these cutscenes function the same way as the originals, they don't contain the audio so there's no way for the audio to be mixed up compared to originals. If you select Japanese under Voices, you should have Japanese audio.
When I had reset the game to default before modding, I didn't realize that, somehow, the language changed to English. (Which is weird, since the installation is in Spanish, but since this doesn't have Spanish, should be using Japanese, as I stated in the config.
Well, computers, in a nutshell I guess, hahaha. Thanks for the mod again. See ya'.
I'm a little late to the party. This is beautiful - 30FPS keeps the original vibe, but the picture is crisp on my 2k. I don't like AI much, but as the original ones are pretty ugly, I had to try. This is nuts!. Thanks for this!. You have single-handedly changed my opinion about AI scaling.

It's like lodmod is not loading? I already put xinput and lodmod ini in game folder.
Running with FAR/special k and HD texture mod.
But the cutscenes still seem to be 900p?

This one should disable everything (game default) apart from movie playback: https://www.mediafire.com/file/frel3emwn4vnrx9/LodMod.ini/file

Is this intended? How can I fix it, if I can?
Thanks again. Take care.
Thanks for picking this mod.
