For anyone who has an issue with using NIAOM where the shooting is only towards the center of the screen, and (if it is enabled) the target reticle for shooting is stuck there too, keep your NIAOM installation in the game folder, and then go ahead and load NIAOM in NAMH. This solved the same issue for me, plus now you will be able to access the NIAOM options through NAMH. There must be some conflict going on with the two trying to load separately with the updated version of NAMH.
I am currently playing the game using this guide setup and now in Route B.... when I get to the Forest for the first time there are flashback cutscenes 256 years prior... the transition effect from those cutscene stays on and never goes away, making the game unplayable and need to force quit/reload... I tried the vanilla no mod version of the game and it was able to progress fine... however all 3 of those cutscenes causes the bug somehow... not sure if its FAR or the LoD mod that is causing it but just thought i'd post about it if anyone ever has the same issue...
Known Issues / Errata With the current release, the SkipBootingScreens setting may halt progression during route B where a flashback moment is meant to play, it seems this can stop the game from being able to exit the flashback properly - as a workaround, make sure to disable SkipBootingScreens while playing route B - will try fixing this in a future update.
wow... thanks for the update! :) ... even if its a little bit over a year late! ;) I did find out the bug issue and fixed it by disabling that mod during those cutscenes...
We have since then finished playing the game and moved on... and finished (with my wife) from start to credits roughly 60 other games since as well ;) https://list.hawkxgames.com/
I have an infinite loading issue after starting a new game. Music is still playing and the main menu functions as normal, it is just after I start a new game.
Stuck at the first step of installing FAR mod. NAMH is stuck in unpacking archive. The game did not managed to open and close as stated in the window prompt. Please help @TheBlueFalcon
Please let me know if you solved this. I am having the same issue. The game seems to try to open, but immediately closes before reaching the home screen. After that the game completely stops opening at all.
Interestingly, validating files also doesn't recover the game and I have to do a full reinstall.
Edit: I chose the 2nd option for FAR, because I need NAIOM.
So my game now refuses to go into full screen mode, is this intentional? I even use the new menu from the mod, and it still goes into returns to windowed mode. Any solutions?
Guide was super helpful just like the one before the big update!
Only thing I would add is a step to increase the "texture cache" size in the FAR SK Overlay if one is going to use the HD texture pack. I was having an issue where the texture pack tanked my frames until I noticed that setting and set it to 5 GB of memory (the default for me was 2 GB). Once I set it, I had high stable frames again.
Hey! First off, thanks for recommending my reshade preset. I've also read that you recommend not using a preset for the first playthrough and that.. makes sense. At least with the presets we have right now. How about these changes? Imgsli1Imgsli2 The main focus lies on getting rid of that blue tint in darker areas this time. :) (fck'd the reds a little but don't wanna take new screenshots.. just imagine it's a little more red lol)
Hey chaser, sorry I don't check messages here that often - as mentioned I'm much more active on Discord. Personally I find reshade is best used for things like debanding or applying different AA if your computer doesn't handle the in game settings well. As a personal thing I find using color presets are generally like applying an Instagram filter over the entire game. My feelings on reshade are that if you need color correction on EVERY game you play it's more likely that you need to calibrate your monitor's color properly. Using a Samsung Odyssey G9 I find that most reshade presets make the game look far too vibrant, colorful, and "lively" rather than like a bleak, post apocalyptic world which should look full of despair and more "dull". Again, this is my personal preference and some people may wish to experience the world in a more cartoon-y, vibrant setting (Although I feel this doesn't fit the overall mood of the game.) I am happy to keep recommending your preset as some people I have spoken with prefer the fact that it makes things look less "Grey" and bleak though. Just sharing my thoughts is all.
No worries. I actually get your point too, with an Odyssey G9 my and probably any preset is likely way too much. In my defense, the initial release of my preset was done on a TN panel, that might explain why I called it "clean" even though it looks vibrant on higher quality displays. The people you've spoken to probably own one too. The only thing bothering me since switching to IPS is the blue tint the game has on dark tones which should be close to the only change I've done now. Aside from pulling out too much red in the screenshots.. That's why I wanted to gather some feedback from you, since we seem to have similar opinions on how the game should look. But if default already hits the spot for you, that's cool. Thanks for responding! And yeah. Many presets shared here really do look very similar to instagram filters.. Nevermind the game.
(I couldn't find you on the discord, hence im replying here again)
