If you're talking about the ones in place in Nellis Air Force Base, it is because their hand weapon is equipped but holstered. They use the base game small melee weapon holster animation. Once they draw the weapon out, the hand is fine. It is a similar issue to when they equip the head laser and have their hand disappear. I can only think of two possible solutions, find a way to make it so that the assaultrons are in a state in which they always have the hand weapon drawn out and can't holster it. The other is making a custom holster animation in which the weapon doesn't move to the hip and stays on the hand. dinosgamez made it so that assaultron dominators blades don't go to the hip when holstered so it is possible.
I'll add more in a few days. I like to add assaultrons where robots already exist so definitely H&H tools. I don't play TTW so i won't add any there. Sorry.
Going to give this a try. Now if only there was an Assaultron companion who persistently tries to get romantic with the Courier. (Not for robo-waifu reasons but for comedy reasons.)
I humored the idea of making an assaultron prostitute hang out around westside or the atomic wrangler but passed on it. As for an assaultron companion, I am still humoring the idea of making assaultrons and robco certified compatible with each other.
I second this brilliant idea! An assaultron companion would be awesome, Ada from FO4 was cool AF with the pieces that made her look like a Valkyrie. Romance based on scrapping, hoarding parts and optimized decision making never gets old.
Oh, gods, an assaultron companion who wants to jump your bones. I mean, it'd take ElevenLabs to voice her (unless you can find a VA and know how to post-process her lines to make them sound Assaultron-y) but imagine the quest potential.
Default leads to a robo-waifu, but the challenging fork is to get her to change her mind without aggro-ing her.
Thanks for the new TTW patch, I'm loving it. And btw, there is no audio for the Assaultrons, but, I fixed it by changing the folder with the voices from assaultronpatch.esp to assaultronpatch - TTW.esp.

The Assaultrons were not meant to have two? equipped hands. This is why the hand is off.
having them in Robco, H&H Tools, Hidden Valley, Remnants Bunker, Citadel, Raven Rock and etc
