Description
Everyone’s favorite trench coat wearing misanthrope can now travel with you across The Mojave Desert!

The Dude had to come to The Mojave after Caesar’s Legion began making their presence known in Arizona, massacring the town of Paradise due to it's residents resisting Caesar's rule. After suffering an unfortunate firearm accident, The Dude made an escape from the town and ended up in Freeside looking for any paying work he can find. He can be found outside of Mick & Ralph’s, asking for signatures on a petition.

This mod, while in a 1.0 state, is still very much in active development. New additions and changes are being made whenever I have the chance. Check the article for more information on my future plans. Updates are coming, so be sure to track the mod to stay up to date & endorse if you enjoy!

Perks
The mod introduces one new perk, being given upon having The Dude join you. It’s just a Bloody Mess retexture minus the Bloody Mess, so if you think you have a better idea I’m open to suggestions!

I Regret Nothing
While The Dude is a companion, you feel every regret you’ve ever held onto melt away… Oh, and you’ll do 5% extra damage with all weapons.

Factions
The Dude doesn’t give a rat’s ass about the politics of The Mojave, meaning he will travel with you no matter your faction choice! Not to say he won’t voice his opinion, however.

Lore-Friendly
While a POSTAL X Fallout: New Vegas crossover would never happen in a million years, I tried my best to make this mod as true to both source materials as possible. The Dude still talks and acts like The Dude we all know and love, he's just lived his whole life in the wasteland of Fallout rather than the wasteland of America.

Installation
Either install through a mod manager, or extract all files into the data folder. 
Recommended you use Mod Organizer 2, as that's what the mod was made on, and it’s what you should be using anyways.
Please note that installing either version of this mod to an existing save is okay, but installing Simple Open Freeside is not!
If you are mid playthrough and don't already have SOF installed, it is necessary to install the standalone version and hold off on SOF. Installing SOF to an existing save will cause The Dude to not spawn, along with many other issues.

Compatibility
 - JIP Companions Command & Control - 100% Compatible and highly recommended.
 - Simple Open Freeside - 100% Compatible and highly recommended. You will have to download the Simple Open Freeside version.
 - Perk Styled CC&C Icons - 100% Compatible and highly recommended.  Two alternative Icons are included in the textures folder for those who use this mod.
 - 10MM Pistol & Friends - 100% Compatible and highly recommended. A Patch is included in the optional files for those who use this mod.
 - Viva New Vegas - 100% Compatible and highly recommended. Mod pack that the mod was tested on. My load order is actually around 170 mods, so this mod should be mostly compatible with anything!

Known Bugs/Issues
 - The Dude does not have lip sync. Even with .egm & .tri files present, his mouth refuses to move and his facial structure is broken. .egm & .tri files are included in the download, but unused. Unsure how to fix.
 - The Dude will follow you into The Lucky 38 Penthouse. This is due to the script that checks for companions requiring a “fFollowerWaitingLeaveDay” float, which The Dude does not have. Unsure how to fix, he is simply ungovernable.
 - The Dude will follow you into the end game cutscene room. This is due to an oversight on my part, never finished the game during my playtesting. Will be looking into a fix.
 - If you at any point find yourself needing to spawn or teleport to The Dude, his Form ID is 02000ADD.
