    Sticky
Bruh, when skyrim got a similar mod, it ran buttery-smooth on my old laptop.
    And now for NV? Amazing!
Not sure if it will do something on my current rig, but I'll try it anyways, TY!

      Thanks!
After some testing, fps didn't improve that much.
But what did i notice was the loading times when entering a new cell where reduced, and the improved performance (less stutter) when entering a new grid.

You can run it from any folder. Double click the Install file. Select Yes, then OK twice. You only need to run it once. If you want to remove, just do the same on the Uninstall file.

No, it will not work on Linux. This is a Windows registry edit.

I've also had success ending Windows Explorer (explorer.exe) from task manager then running New Vegas with no crashes for hours, In case anyone else wants to try it out.

Yeah, that's simply because explorer.exe obviously eats a lot of resources and NV is a CPU-intensive game. explorer.exe is the part of windows that controls all that's related to folders and, well, exploring the contents of the PC. You can easily kill the process in the task manager and later simply go to file -> new task and input "explorer.exe" to get it back. It's just you leaving more CPU space for the game. It's an old trick.

Yes, you can open the file in any text editor and see exactly what it will do. It makes a single registry key to set high priority for the game executable. The Uninstall file simply removes that single key.

Heya! Just wondering if this works with NVTF - New Vegas Tick Fix at Fallout New Vegas - mods and community (nexusmods.com) ?

Have no idea what that does or doesn't do compared to this, but already have it installed. JW for clarity. If they work good side-by-side, it could be the death to stutter/loading times in the game all together.

Regardless thank you for your help with this amazing game <3

Yes, this will not interfere with any other mods. Combining this with other mods is a great way to reduce stuttering even further!

      Thanks for the quick response!

If that's the case, this might be a magical combination to a lot of our problems in game.

      Thank you good sir <3

Yes it will work just fine. The patch does not rename the executable, which is what this mod targets.

Sorry if this sounds n00bular, but doesn't OneTweak do this?

It might have a setting for this, yeah. This tweak gives people an option that does not require any other mods and will not break with updates.

It will be getting an update in the coming months (rumored). Thanks for the passive-aggressive comment, though! I appreciate you.

Nah he's got a point, it's obvious DP farm. He's going around posting this to every game under the sun.
Not only that, he's editing the registry MANUALLY, like hell I'm gonna let that s#*! onto my system.
If I want a higher priority on my games I'll go to task manager or Windows will do that automatically.

I do state explicitly in the description there are other ways to do this. This is just a simple and quick way to get it done. If people find it useful, they can download and use it. If people using something useful is "DP farming", then I'm all for it. Also, you can literally open the file in any text editor and see exactly what it does before you run it. Trust, but verify.

Process Hacker 2 does this, as well, but OneTweak does it less intrusively / without the hassle

will this work if im using TTW?

It works based on the game executable name, so I don't think it would work as is. You could edit the file and replace the exe name with the one for TTW.

TTW does not run off a separate executable, its installed as any other mod would be so this would work.
