The briefcase is marked in red (so anything I remove from it counts as stealing, and I lose karma). Is this supposed to be the case? (If not: any idea what might be causing it?)
It's not marked as owned in the mod itself, but I believe that if you're using Essential Vanilla Enhancements Merged or the standalone Mass Ownership Tweaks, then everything in Doc Mitchell's house will be owned by him.
I've debated reaching out but I wanted too, I too am a connoisseur of fine handwear. I own about 40 pairs of black leather gloves in different styles I've collected over the last decade and a half. I'd like to strike up a conversation if you're interested.
Beyond my capabilities, alas. Though anyone is free to try!
My dumb-dumb take is that since the gloves are separated into discrete left and right items, implementing it poorly would result in lots of mix-matches. An elegant solution would be either mashing each pair of gloves into a single item (which unclutters the list, but also removes character customization potential, and may also be impossible for mesh-related reasons?) or force-bonding pairs of gloves within leveled lists to always show up together (probably possible, but I wouldn't know how to do it offhand, and would likely be VERY tedious). Going on a quest to find a matching glove could make for good emergent gameplay, but it would result in some fashion disaster NPCs, I think.

The new name for the glove that you gotta pick is Glove, Dark Leather Ring (Left + Right).
edit: nvm, found out about the search function in console.
