FNV fanbase continues to embarass itself so much that its just gonna hurt the games rep more and more lmao .
Positive note its cool seeing like 4 towns around the city seemingly fine , smoke being like the chimney stuff, clearly people are fine just the city seems to have been attacked by the ncr at some point

Is this supposed to stay on the Main Menu Screen all the time, or not? Because mine only appears for a brief moment before it starts scrolling through the Vanilla Menu Screen pics.

My god you shills are insane, Mr House wasn't crazy, why would he want to nuke the world for some imaginary profit? Mr House wanted to save the world but could not so he did the next best thing and saved Vegas, he has a goal towards the future, rebuilding humanity. He would never agree to start the great war, it contradicts his entire character and philosophy.

      These writers are hacks.

House is quite clearly humouring Vault-Tec. None of his deliveries read as him actually believing their ideas are in anyway good, it just works out better for him to be somewhat in the know and for them to not suspect him of harbouring his own plans.

Think of it this way. If they suspected House would be interfering with their plans after the bombs drop (something House had already deemed as inevitable a decade prior to that meeting, BTW.) they would not have made the Vault built on his very doorstep have the very simple and in the end peaceful experiment it did, they would have plotted something to take him down.

House never agreed to the plan in the show and seemed quite skeptical and not on board, if anything it shows why House was so invested in securing Vegas knowing what Vault Tec was trying to do

1.Knight in power armor can't fight off a yao guai, lol.
2.Turned power armor into an iron man suit, but only Maximus's suit. *rolls eys*
3.Fatal flaw in front facing armor of the T-60 suits? gtfo lol
4.Shady Sands "falls" and goes boom but no NCR soldiers talk about it in FONV? Not "The Fall" or anything of the sort is mentioned in lore. But blowing up one city makes the whole faction disappear? pfffft
5.Shady Sands isn't anywhere near where the show took place. Anyone that played the first two games or looks at the maps from the games can see that clearly.
6.Cooper is Fallout Boy? Why is the character blonde and always been blonde? Even if it's just an inspired character, it felt forced.
7.Lucy was graped by a raider but no one talks about that, not even her.
8.Vault Tech coming up with the "profit off the end of the world" thing was accurate to what we know about them. But Cooper finds out and what? He Doesn't do anything about it? He goes and does parties with his daughter for money knowing his wife and the 1% are gonna start the end of the world? He becomes a ghoul even though he would have been dust with an atomic bomb blowing up a few miles away from him on a horse?
9.Ghouls need medicine to not go feral? Stupid
10.No super mutants. Removes 1/3 of the overall lore and a huge part of the dangers of the wasteland.
      11. Vault 33/32/31 is on the coast. So Frank Horrigan and the Enclave never wanted to pay them a visit huh? Interesting.
12.New Vegas is dead at the end and that's the worst part, even though people are excited for it for some reason. It was just the tip of the iceberg.

Todd is on his way to retcon the entire franchise, not just the games lol. If you don't see it, I suggest seeking medical attention to remove your head from where the sun don't shine.

the chalkboard is poor writing on their part, New Vegas is still canon, and its inferred through dialogue in the show that the events of Shady's nuking happen after the 2nd battle of the dam. also all the elements of the NCR that we see are just the Boneyard elements and there are many more groups of NCR around. if you look at the shady sands sign in the show it specifically says "THE FIRST CAPITOL OF THE NCR" implying they possibly established a new capitol somewhere before the nuking. Although I don't respect him because of how bad starfield was Emile from Bethesda said that New Vegas is canon and pointed out the date of 2281(which is the start of New Vegas), essentially stating that the chalkboard doesn't matter. The whole fiasco with the chalkboard and "retconning" of New Vegas was poor writing and a possible assumption from writers and by Nolan that fans would just assume New Vegas happened. The Last thing i think Bethesda, Todd, and Nolan would want to do is try to erase and redo the best entry in the series. also you see NCR vertibirds in the credits teaser. i was on the edge when i saw the chalkboard because New Vegas is my favorite game of all time but after finishing the show and looking into it deeper, New Vegas i and its events are still canon and we'll be getting to see what is the true ending of the game.

All they have to do is come out and say: "oops, we had the wrong year on the board. its meant to say 2287 not 2277. our bad." and the issue is resolved.

It takes 2 seconds for someone to put it out on twitter, less time then it took for Emil to write out all the dates the games took place in.

This weird ambiguity of it is not helping things.

They don't have to do that because the year of Shady Sands' destruction is unknown - the fall of 2277 refers to another event which is the fall of the city, not it's destruction. It could be that the NCR lost it as a territory, they decided to move the capital to somewhere else making Shady Sands unimportant and growing dilapidated or something else. The arrows points towards the future in with every information box, why would they all of a sudden not do that? New Vegas is canon, the events of New Vegas happened. Whether the NCR, House, Legion, Yes Man ending are canon we'll have to see in season 2.

Dude, its a memorial, and nearly the entirety of the episode is reinforcing the fact shady sands got obliterated.

The leaps in logic people will go to to defend a nonsense argument never ceases to amaze me.....

Shady Sands being nuked isnt a retcon but actually a progression of events building off the established lore. A giant militarized faction that's rising in population and just won a war against another large, rising power, securing its position in the wasteland is bad for business. It wouldn't make sense for Vault Tec to let this keep going if they are still an active party in the wasteland. If this is the story they wanted to tell all along, then the events of the previous games are entirely unchanged, and the shows events unfolding in 2296, are entirely plausible.

Except the show goes out of its way to say shady sands was nuked in 2277, 4 years before new vegas took place.

Why do people not look things up?

@SPITSPHIRE Look, I felt the same as you. But people are right, it does say "Fall of Shady Sands 2277" with a timeline arrow pointing to the nuke. It could have been anytime after 2277. I do think its terrible illustration on the shows part. Because I felt the same as you. But on reflection no one verbally confirmed when it happened, all we have is a chalkboard. Honestly think it'll get cleared up or mentioned in season 2. I had the same issue with Hank physically nuking Shady Sands, I was like "How on earth did he physically do that?". But if Vault-Tec does indeed have a nuclear arsenal like the show eluded to then it makes sense for him to make a request to Vault-Tec to launch one. It's still not outright explained though, which is another poor bit of writing on the shows part. Everything else doesn't seem to made for me.

They are prolly going to use the plot point from FO76 where all the people who left Vault 76 went and secured the nuke silos there, and they are still under vault-tec's/enclave control since.

Then hank either remote launched a nuke, or convinced one of the descendants of the 76 dwellers still living in Appalachia to launch it "for the luls".

The billboard in front of Shady Sands in the show says "the first capital of the NCR", clearly the government has at least once moved its headquarters.

here's a good headcanon; I like to imagine all those NCR soldiers saying "patrolling the mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter" is a darkly comedic cynical reference to the 2277 Shady Sands nuking date, because they're so disillusioned by the NCR's failing state they would literally prefer to be home in an irradiated crater than fighting another day in Kimball's dam war.

Because education totally comes into play when talking about a fictional universe depicted in a tv show.....
