Im not Making this To make players Games worse, in fact i have had 0 Preformace Issues what so ever, and 0 Crashes. Unless your Talking about CAGE Itself. Besides the Fact that FGPE require NVSE and Some of its Respective Plugins to work, which the Console Version doesnt Support.
Hey, man, hope you are doing well. I wanted to ask, couldn't you use this to convert DDS? https://github.com/DeathDealer33/Skyrim-DDX-Tool?tab=readme-ov-file Also, is it possible to convert JSawyers original version of the mod? As far as i know, it doesn't require nvse, but i am not sure
I have tried using this tool and it seems to be hit or miss with most textures as far as I can tell after reading into it a bit. Most of the textures I've tried crashed the tool.
Is there an explanation as to why skyrim on xbox 360 can utilize DDS textures and why fallout new vegas cannot?
Edit: After testing, discovered dds does indeed work on 360. I converted Voyager Veritibird - Explorer and textures are working fine for this specific instance. However ive noticed there seems to be slight issues with the veritibird's interior regarding its meshes.
P.S. Thanks for putting this up on nexus as this mod got me into converting pc mods
Edit 2: So .dds files only work on models/meshes that already exist on the game's disc. So basically retextures work.
Unfornatly Your Mods Require NVSE and Or XNVSE. NVSE doesnt work on The Xbox 360 as its not built for the XEX Format the Xbox 360 uses, so no i cant port these
Adding Textures, this is because Xbox 360 uses a different format than DDS (the pc version of NV uses DDS) , Xbox 360 uses DDX. which as far as i know is basically Impossible to Convert to and From
NVSE is technically possible to add if the Devs decided to Port it to the Console, However Furthermore i dont see this ever happening as they probably wouldnt care to waste there time trying to Convert it to the XEX format. But we can Hope man.
Seriously i would love to Convert your mods but its just simpily not possible. unless you got mods that dont use NVSE or any of the other things that are impossible to do. i could convert the ESP's but that doesnt Cover NVSE.
Bruh I just told you that Dramatic Inertia, Dramatic Staggering, Better Stand Up Animation, all of them have no requirements. I specifically mentioned these 3 because NONE of them require NVSE. They are just animation replacers.
oh i could have swore i saw atleast of them required nvse, regardless my apologies ya i can covert them ill test them in game on console to see if they work as they should !
So what are the limitations of this? Is it just any mod that doesn't use Script Extender or are there other factors that let a mod be converted? I know Script Extender is probably never coming to console of course. And what about mods with custom assets? The mods uploaded so far seem to be mostly script based and object placement
NVSE and Hud/UI modifcation are off the Table, NVSE Obviously as it isnt Built in the XEX format and it probably wont get a port and why would it ?
Custom assets are doable from what i know, i myself havent been able to do it myself but i will keep trying. i will post a Mod with Custom Assets if i am able to figure it out.
Ok Well i have found Why Adding Custom Assets Mainly Textures is causing Problems you see you can install textures just like the PC Version, But The Main Problem is the Xbox doesnt use the DDS format for Textures and Rather Uses DDX the Only problem is i have no way of Converting DDS to DDX, not to mention the Xbox also uses a different sound format, That being XMA, You can Convert WAV files to them Quite Easily but DDX remains the Problem. on the Bright side the Console Version does use the NIF format for Meshes just like the the PC version
if Converting DDS to DDX is Possible then it Seriously Unlocks Console Modding potential, Its the Key to All the Answers.
Fallout NV Ultimate Edition is typically on sale on Steam or GOG + there's the VNV guide which contains various bug fixes and improvements for a better new vegas modding experience.
Not to mention the PC version also has support for controller.
Firstly i did this because, Mods Dont really exist for the Console version Beyond just Save Editing, Secondly Console modding is Neat lol.
Yes the PC version may Be superior but this offers a chance for players who have a RGH and Or JTAG modded Xbox to Play the Game in a New Light. i myself have the Game on Steam But i just thought i would be cool to port some mods to console out of Nostalgia for the Console Version.

used to do this on my 4.91 pex ps3 and it was a fun experiement!! (massive pain though esp only and you need to merge esps for lots of mods)
These things have no scripts at all, so they should be straightforward.
