I thought about it, but I wasn't sure what hairstyles to use. And also, I think he shouldn't be changing much until he has at least 2/3 openness points, but by then you're maybe only one action away from starting his quest, so it seemed kinda pointless. This way around, he only starts changing his appearance once he's made a conscious decision to confront his issues, which seems fitting to me, but YMMV of course :)
