HARDCORE NEEDS REVISITED for Fallout: New Vegas

Elevate your Fallout: New Vegas experience with "Hardcore Needs Revisited," a mod that transforms the game into an unparalleled survival adventure. This sophisticated overhaul introduces authentic systems for managing hunger, thirst, fatigue, and health, making strategic resource management essential for thriving in the Mojave Wasteland.

Satiation (Feeling Full):

    • When you're not hungry (hunger level below 200), you get a slow healing effect that gets better or worse depending on your Endurance, Survival skill, and how hungry you are.
    • If your health is full, you'll slowly heal your injured body parts while you sleep. But if a limb is crippled totally, you'll still need a Doctor's Bag to fix it.
    • You still get the usual penalties for being hungry.
Tiredness:

    • When you're tired (sleep level above 100), your maximum action points (AP) will go down. How much they go down depends on your Endurance, Survival skill, and how tired you are.
    • You still get the usual penalties for being tired.
    • You'll see a red bar on your AP bar to show this.
Radiation:

    • For every 10 points of radiation, you lose 1 percent of maximum health.
    • You'll see a red bar on your health bar to show this.
Dehydration:

    • Being dehydrated doesn't have special effects like feeling full or tired, but the usual effects are stronger:
    • Each level of dehydration takes away 1 point from Agility (AGI), Endurance (END), Strength (STR), and Perception (PER).
    • Drinking alcohol makes you much more dehydrated.
    • You can now refill water bottles at water sources and keep a stock of water.
    • Universal Water Types: It changes all drinkable water sources and bottled water to the same Damage RAD/Dehydration ratio based on purified water.
 Food Effects:

    • Food won't heal you anymore. You have to rely on the healing effect from feeling full.
    • The effects of food and drinks that reduce hunger and thirst happen gradually, not all at once. Food reduces hunger by 3 points per second, and drinks reduce thirst by 5 points per second.
    • The total amount of hunger and thirst that food and drinks can reduce won't change. This is controlled by the game's scripts.
    • Alcohols now has toggleable effects includes bonus Speech Skill, Damage Barter Skill, Damage Sleep Deprivation and removed all SPECIAL bonuses besides Charisma. And more penalties for Alcohol Addiction.
    • Added get empty bottle effect for other drinks. (Only whiskey and large whiskey bottles can be used for water bottling.)
    • Weights of the foods were realistically changed.
    • A script handles all the food effect changes. It checks every item in a custom made formlist and check item's effects to adjust them.

Cooking / Crafting:

    • You'll need 1 unit of cooking fuel for every campfire recipes. (Hot plate is excluded)
    • You can now use more things to cook with, like metal pans, pots, pressure cookers, and ovens. But you'll need at least one pilot light in your inventory to use these options.
    • Added recipes for cooking fuel. You can convert from Flamer Fuels, Energy Cells, Microfusion Cells and Electron Charge Packs.
    • Added recipes for water purification.
    • Added recipes for water transfer between different type of bottles.

Perks:

    • Added the "Regenerative Reptile" perk, which grants the player the ability to restore limbs while satiated even when player's HP is not full and even limbs are crippled.

Configuration:

    • The INI file has many options to turn some features off and on, or to tweak them.
    • The mod UI addon also has an INI file for you to modify (such as position, size, color, texture).

Installation Requirements:

This mod requires NVSE , JIP LN NVSE, ShowOff xNVSE Plugin and UIO for full functionality. Compatibility with existing HUD or survival mechanic mods is advised to ensure seamless gameplay.

Known/Possible Issues:
- UI testing was conducted primarily at a resolution of 1920x1080.
- If your first time install, food effects may not apply in right way. But it resolves after reload/restart the game.
