Thats a bit disappointing, but not really to big of a deal.
I have a question about the color of the smoke in game...I have two pillars of smoke. one black/dark grey and one white/light grey. Would this just be caused by whatever effect texture Ive got installed?
I don't quite understand. All of my smoke meshes use the same texture which is custom. If you're talking about the smoke on the ground then yes, it's because there are multiple smoke textures in the game and some meshes have darker vertex colors.
This is also after I pasted my LOD over yours to make a custom version, but I dont see how that could possibly touch the smoke. The texture it shows for the light grey side is fxdustsmoke01.dds
That's my fault then. I wasn't seeing the particles anyways and I forgot to rotate them. I will try to figure out if I can get them visible for me before I remove them.
it showed up for me when travelling from Yangtze Memorial...loading into a save from near Nipton shows nothing until I get into town or do something to reload the LOD
Lmk if it works now cus I still can't get them to show up for me and particles don't render in NifSkope. Wonder if anyone else can see them...
I was told that particle systems are working in LOD but it seems there might be a hardware issue? I am using DXVK but it has some complications with Nvidia GPUs, especially alpha rendering.
Particles are still working for me with the new version. Amazing job lining it up without being able to even see it. Not perfectly lined up, but it looks great...I'm using Nvidia RTX 3060 ALSO WITH DXVK.
So I noticed that the alignment was still off because of the gravity nodes, and since it wouldn't be easy to get them to arc properly and they stopped being visible again after I made more edits, I decided to just cut the particles. Don't think they necessarily look worse without them tbh.
im keeping the old version forever...it is my precious. they dont line up perfectly, but the particles definitely make the smoke thick like an actual tire fire. maybe leave it as an optional? idk
Feel free to keep using the old versions if you want. I won't pull them off the downloads. But I'll probably come back to fix everything once my understanding has matured.
did you ever get it to consistently work for you? I'm using a custom version of 1.1 so I dont think I'll need to update unless you managed to get the alignment to match like you were wanting.
Nah it's still weird for me but the alignment is literally perfect now. I realized you can just copy and paste the coordinates from the geck into nifskope, and the particles being misaligned from the mesh was me being an idiot and not translating the whole ninode. So yeah, good reason to update.
yeah definitely updating then. Cant wait to see what else you come up with. The latest two are just as great as this one. Dust bowl is especially nice.
For some reason, when approaching Nipton from Coyote Den, the rocks and some buildings appear white. I can confirm it's this mod doing it, when I delete the WastelandNV.Level4.X-8.Y-24.nif and WastelandNV.Level4.X-12.Y-24.nif from Fallout New Vegas\Data\Meshes\landscape\lod\wastelandnv\Blocks Then it's back to normal, but I don't get to see the smoke from distance. Yes, I have the latest version of LOD Fixes and Improvements - NVSE.
I was having issues with rocks around Nipton showing weird textures (although not white) and the LOD of Nipton's buildings looking weird (as in shifted/broken textures). I'm using NMC's textures and NMC's Pre Generated LOD Updated (67649). Disabled this mod and reloaded a save, problem was gone. Reloaded the same save with this mod and the problem was there again. Take that as you want.
Sn4rk, based on my understanding of how LOD works, any issues you are experiencing could not be caused by this mod. Even if you were using texture mods, they would still work if you are smart enough to read the description unlike Morinn here. Given that the mod seems to work fine for everyone else, it's probably a bug with LOD Fixes. It might have to do with hardware or any other rendering mods you are using.
Sounds like attempting to use the meshes from this mod without using the included textures. Both the texture and meshes from this mod are required (unless you make a custom patch for your load order).
Oddly this mod is causing my game to crash upon fast travel, the problem ceases to persist once this mod is disabled. I have it under my LODGen output, but above "Strip Performance Fix" I will do more testing tomorrow, probably by first placing it below the strip performance fix mod. Regardless this is a very cool mod and hopefully I can get this to work so I can continue using it. Thanks.
I would need to see a crashlog to confirm that. Are you 100% sure your NVSE is up to date? Because the previous release was known to cause crashes on fast travel.
I definitely have the most up-to-date NVSE, I believe the problem is one of my LOD resources, I'll have to mess with them later to figure out which is the culprit. Here's the crash log, and thanks for any help you can possibly provide.

I do, I even reinstalled but it still crashed, honestly it's not a huge problem if this problem is only happening with me I can live without the mod. I guess if other people have the same issue it can be addressed. Thanks for all the help.
This overrides WastelandNV.Level4.X-12.Y-24 and WastelandNV.Level4.X-8.Y-24 from Lucky 38 Lights Redone and it's patch for Better Strip View, I assume I let this mod win these conflicts to see their changes?
First I'm gonna remaster everything in P1 and bundle it with everything else I've released, plus extras & total configurability. Could not give you a release date for that though bc it's not a priority for me. Then P2 will include a lot of what I haven't released yet. And hopefully P3 will finish the series. But no guarantees.
For those of us who use Claim The Mojave, after we 'claim' Nipton for our faction of choice, does the smoke from this file persist? Or does it deactivate when the smoke in (non-LOD) Nipton is gone?
Nope, there isn't any way to do that yet. You can disable the mod whenever you want though. It's just meshes and textures and has nothing to do with your save.

Im having a similar issue with the other version and no edits.
not sure if that will work for you or not

Don't use NMC.
Why the butthurt? Grow up. Later.
