Description:
There are a lot of really great companion mods out there. Sadly, not all of them are ideally placed for game balance. This collection aims to rectify that by moving the worst offenders to more appropriate locations, at least for the initial encounter. Currently, there are patches for:
The Storyteller:
This one's fairly obvious. Being able to recruit a guy in heavy power armour five seconds after leaving Doc Mitchell's house doesn't exactly lend any favours to game balance. Since he has no story-related reason for being there, I thought it'd make more sense if he was first encountered in the Old Mormon Fort in Freeside, given that he's out looking for old books and knowledge and whatnot. His home marker is still in Goodsprings, though, so he'll still go there when dismissed.
Bad Mothafucka:
Bad Mothafucka is moving to North Vegas Square. Now, I know what you're thinking:
"But Bad Mothafucka LOVES Goodsprings. He's so happy there!"
Yes, but, he's also massively overpowered for the early game, so he has to go.
"Ew!" I hear you wail. "But North Vegas is dirty!"
Just hear me out...
Now, North Vegas gets a bad rap, but it's definitely on the up.
Thanks to the crime, property prices are so cheap that Bad Mothafucka can have an entire alleyway just to himself!
And there are plenty of toys nearby...
And when he gets bored with those, there's no end of friendly neighbours around for him to play with...
Maybe one of them could be the role model he needs?
There's even a burgeoning urban art scene for him to get involved in....
And local wildlife to bring him into sync with nature...
There's a dog!
Trust me, he'll love it there.
