Good day, my marker icons are "cut", I only have one quarter. To test, I manually resized one of them to 64x64 and it worked. You have any idea if there is something I can do to let the icons scale?
That's a XML Issue. I know how to fix it, but the issue is distributing the fix. VUI+ Assets are not allowed on Nexus. Hopefully we can come into some kind of arrangement where a fix can be uploaded here.
That said, the current limitation is: At 128x128 res, only 70x70 pixels in the middle of the artboard is useable currently. This is why some of the icons are mushy. I am very eager to get this fixed!
ItsMeJesusHChrist thx for the fix! I manually compressed the .dds textures to 64x64 using Adobe Photoshop's DDS plug-in - now mod works as intended. icons neat & fully visible👍
...maybe you should place a secondary file for this mod with 64x64 textures as a possible solution for this kind of issue?
No, making the icons smaller in resolution is not a fix. The issue is the XML!
Since I am still unable to post the fix (It is super simple). I will guide you on how to fix it without sharing any files.
Use latest VUI+ Go to Menus\Main Open map_menu.xml Search for "HD Icon Support" You will find this:
Change TopCropRatio, LeftCropRatio, BottomCropRatio, RightCropRatio to what you see in this image. Congratulations! It's fixed!
Here is a bonus tweak, bigger icons! (I personally use this) Further down you will see "<!-- Retrieve marker size from parent -->", underneath you will see "<width>", Under Width you will see <mul>, and underneath that again you will see <add>1</add> Change the 1 to 2. That's it! It should look like this
Have fun!
Note, under no circumstance are you allowed to upload XML "fix" in Nexusmods.
As soon as we have a "official fix" from Axonis, I will edit the icons to take advantage of the nocrop. That way they will look even nicer! But until then.... the icons need to look mushed so that people who don't do these tweaks can still enjoy the mod.
If you are thinking about the "random" square, it is intentional as it is supposed to be accurate to the OG design. That being said, I'll be honest and say I have no idea what it is supposed to represent... :P
Ha, funny. You’re right, seems like it’s either intended or it was overlooked by Bethesda. I removed it myself from the texture since it kinda bothered me. 😃
For some reason I just can't get any of the unique icons to work. Using latest version of VUI+ and the consistent pipboy icons framework, have all the .inis for the map markers installed, using the XML tweak for the correct size. Uninstalling and reinstalling does nothing. I'm using TTW and neither the Capitol nor Mojave's icons are unique. I can't think of any other mod that would somehow be overwriting/disabling this mod's effect so I'm at a loss on why I can't get this to work.
Finally got it to work. Feels a bit silly to admit but something had been wrong with my Consistent Pipboy Icons Framework script file, replacing it made the different icons show up finally. Great mod, love not having to mouse over for location names as much to find the right place anymore.
Is there a way to change the icons ourselves to go with certain mods. For example, I use Factions Reloaded Legion, could I configure this mod to use the legion icon on the areas it adds/changes?
You are right... It is fun. Surprisingly so, I marked all the Legion locations added by the mod and also used the Raider Settlement icon to mark several raider camps! I also used the police station icon to mark locations added by New Vegas Bounties where you can turn in the bounties. Great mod!
Sadly, It's not possible currently. Functions (and features) from: JIP, JG, ShowOff and XNVSE need to be ported to FO3. I would love to make this mod for FO3, as I prefer it over TTW.
You can use the icons as a replacer for Fallout 3 Icons, i'm just experimenting at the moment, but they do work... you just can't add any new fancy ones, just replace whats already there! :)
I noticed in the image, 188 trading post has a unique icon but in my game, it's a just a generic icon. I have all the boxes checked during installation.

I dont use Revelation
Study how the ini files are formated, notice how the spaces are not spaces, but the press of a tab. Check out the ini file for Mod Patches too.
Go to the misc section of the downloads in this mod. The readme will help you with the rest :)
Have fun!
EDIT: Nevermind, I managed to fix it by applying the edit to Revelations
That said, I'm working on a TTW patch.
