in theory love this, in practice too many sapient modded enemies are creatures like behemoths, aliens, and even ghost people are tool users. these are evil for the same reason legion is evil, their conscious intent. though yes I do think animals and insects should be considered neutral, it's not the dogs fault they're hungry, or the cazadores fault that they need to defend their eggs.
Idk dude I feel like the creature karma is more a representation of the threat they pose to people and you gaining karma is due to preventing harm to humans by eliminating the threat. We hear from Sunny that Doc Mitchell has to patch up gecko wounds all the time and we see a settler get killed (or nearly if you help her) right at the start of the game so it's clear they're a threat. Rats are vectors of disease and the bigger critters are an obvious danger. You can even sometimes find dead prospectors around the wastes who were killed by radscorpions or deathclaws or stuff. I feel like from that perspective Karma gain is balanced although I do agree that high karma from just that is unbalanced.
Not hating on the mod though, you do you. Just wanted to argue for my point of view.
IMO its more about the balance rather than the logic. That being said, theres a huge difference between killing something to prevent it from hurting other people and killing it in self defense so it doesn't kill you.
well...the people of the Mojave consider them evil since they are killing humans. That's why they are marked as evil, not because they are evil in nature. When you kill a creature and gain karma, that's because people see you do good since you killed something that used to kill people. That's Fallout's Karma system. It is not what you are, its just what you do and how it's viewed by others.
thanks, very much agree over rats being considered evil, they're critters trying to live and deathclaws are to some degree a people. the only creatures I'd consider evil are Bloatflies since they reproduce by sexually assaulting a creature and having them eaten alive from the inside. Aliens since Mothership Zeta shows that they are a sapient group that is actively colonizing and torturing. And Cazadores assuming I'm correct in remembering they also lay eggs in people.

In the end its just a matter of perspective.
Does this include fiends/raiders/powder gangers?
NVM, just tried for myself, it doesn't. I like it, makes sense. They're evil, especially fiends.. it would make sense for you to gain karma upon killing them.
