Caesars New Regime - Arizona Slave Army Patch Notes by J3tAc3 (v0.1):
The core tenets of this mod are as follows:
Golden or more expensive armor is reserved for the exceedingly important of the Legion.
The Roman Gladius is a weapon of status and is reserved for a select few.
There is a unique weapon in the game world called "Saeculum Aureum" - you may find it locked away in the office of a certain centurion. If you can find it, you will receive a bonus called "Mighty Legionnaire".
The Saeculum Aureum cannot be repaired using regular machetes or other weaponry but must be repaired using whetstones. On the upside, due to its high carbon content, its health is significantly higher than that of usual melee weapons, but requires a repair skill of at least 70.
Roman Gladius is from Moraelin's Gladius Hispaniensis mod on Nexusmods.
Roman Gladius equip/unequip sound changed to Chinese Sword sound.
Changed Roman Gladius impact effect to sword impact effect.
Added "Roman Gladius Bonus" to weapon: Deals bonus limb damage, has bonus critical chance and damage
Roman Gladius and Scutum combo grants "Mighty Legionnaire" bonus: +2 Strength, +15 AP, +10 DT, Bonus Limb Damage, Bonus Critical Chance and Critical Damage.
Changed block sound of Machete Gladius and RIOT Scutum to a wood-based sound.
Gemeral Legion changes:
According to the wiki, the Machete Gladius is supposed to be rarer, so melee weapon distributions have been rejigged.
Equipment pools separately for legionnaires have been created. Melee and thrown weapons have been tiered according to legionnaire rank and experience, Tier 1 being for recruits, Tier 2 for Primes, Tier 3 for Veterans.
Melee weapons and chance of equipment:
T1: Machete/Sharp Machete - 50/50
T2: Sharp Machete/Machete Gladius/Machete Gladius and Riot Scutum - 17/66/17
T3: Machete Gladius/Machete Gladius and Riot Scutum - 20/80
Thrown Weapons
T1: Legion Throwing Spears - 100
T2: Trident/Pilum - 67/33
T3: Trident/Pilum - 33/67
Pilum have been reworked to ignore armor/DT, have bonus critical chance and are effective at crippling limbs ("Piercing Pilum").
Trident don't have bonus crit chance but possess a significantly higher base damage and are effective at crippling limbs ("Trident Strike").
Legion Throwing spears are cheaper and more plentiful, can cripple limbs but don't possess the armor ignore/bypass flag, bleed effects or bonus critical chance. They have a higher base damage than Pilum.
Regular machete pool has been reworked - wastelanders have their own separate pool to draw machete weapons from.
Recruit legionaries use classic football gear, while veterans and primes are provided more varied outfits.
NOTE: Terror and Marauder armors are unused except in special cases.
Legion Hit Squads:
Legion Hit Squads are no longer a hodge-podge of soldiers but are now comprised of dedicated assassins. Assassins from CNR and elsewhere have been removed from being seen in the Mojave altogether until the player provokes the wrath of Caesar. Specific armour and weaponry have been given to them and removed as possible outfitting from other legionnairies. Assassins level with the player up to and including level 50,with their weaponry getting more and more dangerous as the player levels higher and higher.
Legion Assassins will use poisoned blades with their scutum! Either keep your distance or be sure to pack some extra antivenom if you're aiming to take on Caesar!
Juggernauts:
Juggernauts have been re-armoured and re-classed according to the equipment provided them - "Vandal" for melee-based Juggernauts, "Rambo" for minigun-armed juggernauts. They've been given armours that seem more befitting to their status. Both types use the Heavy Juggernaut Helm from CNR.
Juggernauts have been reassigned stats somewhat based on Praetorians from Arizona Slave Army to bring them in line with Arizona Slave Army standards.
Brutal Juggernauts have been given the Supermutant Melee combat style, Heavy Juggernauts the Fire Gecko combat style to make them effective in their roles.
Heights increased to 1.1
Decanii and changes:
All Decanii have been reassigned according to their experience as Combat Elite -> Brutal Juggernaut -> Heavy Juggernaut.
Legion Elite and Legion Combat Elite have been given their own classes.
Legion Combat Elites have been given their own specific armour pools to draw from and their stats have been revised; the armour they wear will reflect their ability to live off the land and operate outside the main body of the legion as special forces for prolonged periods of time.
Legionary Evocati:
Evocati are elite legionaries that are prime candidates for promotion to either centurion-rank or possibly even Juggernauts! These men function as soldiers whose abilities in combat have led to their prolonged survival, an unusual accomplishment in the wasteland.
Veterans, Combat Elite, Evocati and Heavy Juggernauts have unarmed weapons in the event their melee or ranged weapons are broken/shot out of their hands.
Dead Sea has been given his own Marauder armor and Terror helm with another weapon to show him to be a man who glories in combat and is working to advance in rank.
Centurions have their own specific armours to wear.
Blacksmiths, steelworkers and the like have been reassigned stats and their own class.
Aurelius and his second-in-command, Severus, have been given Roman Gladius as weapons.
Severus has been re-equipped with an assault carbine and ammo.
Safehouse occupant Veteran Atticus has been given Barbarian armor since he tends to keeping the safehouse supplied.
Nipton Caravan ambush recruits have been repositioned and a couple re-equipped.
Safehouse is untouched.
Legate Lanius:
Legate Lanius height increased by .5 to 1.2
Lanius walks into tent if he is defeated through nonviolent means
KNOWN Bug: RIOT Scutum can be used with any weapon. Need to see how to restrict it to one-handed melee, first or possibly one-handed pistols only.
