Excited to mess with this for my first NV playthrough! But I am having the same issue as someone who reported a bug had, with shiny, untextured black hair... Not sure what is causing it. Like half of the hairs are like that. I have the patch and nothing should be conflicting. Stinks, since the hair I wanted to use is messed up :/ let's see...92, 90, 89, 83, 81, 73, 71, 70, 67, 63, 38, 36, 35, 34, 32, 31, 29, 28, 27, 26, 25, 24, 23, 20, 19, 18, 17, 156, 15, 14, 13, 12 and 6 are the ones that are just black, shiny, blocky hairs for me 8(

That spot was messed up with the vanilla races with all other mods disabled, but then I tried it with the beloved race and it works now. Peculiar.

Test it out. Works flawlessly. However, I have one more wish about this beautiful custom hair mod. Bone weighting. Low part of the long hair meshes should follow the character's chest. If I have more free time, I will do this gladly and make a patch myself. But dang it, I don't! (Too many hair meshes to edit.) For now, long hairs are good for standing poses for a good screenshot and, for gameplay, I can easily change it to short hairs thanks to hair patcher mod.

Anyway, thanks for this! +1 Endorsement.

Bone weight doesn't work for hair meshes

O.K. I see. Maybe you're right. But I've seen a hair mod that follows upper chest bones (spines) in Oblivion. However, it was a little different hair mod. It was equipable hair mod and sold by a merchant. That was quite different. Maybe it was a helm mesh.

So my guess is that, if it's possible in oblivion, it's also possible in fo3 and fnv. Long hair mesh breaks immersion during gameplay. For this reason, I have never used long hairs during my fo3 and fnv playthroughs.

If you make a hair wig it can be weighted but it won't be colorable, fnv hairs are a headache...

Maybe you're right. This hair thing is surely not my forte.

Sure. But don't expect too much from me. I just guessed because I happened to know that such a mod exists in Oblivion. Anyway, one thing is certain that I'm going to use this beautiful hair mod from now on frequently thanks to your port :)

How do I get the Nitrishape for hairs to stop going invisible..... I'm making hat patches but the hair textures keeps disappearing from the mesh I put them In......i tried disabling some flags in Nitrishapedata but I wasn't successful ....it only disappears in-game not from the mesh

I'll try explain, but I don't understand it 100% either
If you have two meshes on the .nif, one has to be named NoHat and the other Hat , check out the wiki hair tutorial

Love the hairs, but they're poking through hats, anyone know what I can do about that? Edit: it's not this mod I guess, must be some other mod of mine doing it but all hairs poke through (most) hats

its a bug no one has been able to overcome unfortunately.  There is a wig mod you can use to sort of combat this forgot the name though...

It's Project Hairline you're talking about I think, but that's kind of a solution for the opposite problem of characters going bald when wearing hats. It must be one of my other mods doing it, but I've come to realize that this mod must not be at fault because in general a lot of hats don't seem to get rid of hair on my install now, so that all hairstyles poke through the hats if they've got enough volume
