Boone's Ash colored rifle can be picked from his room in NOVAC. It's on top of the foot locker in front of his bed.
The desert tan rifle is too powerful to be put in a starting game location, so it can be bought from the Gun Runners or taken from a dead NCR Ranger Commander during the Battle of Hoover Dam. Weapon mods are also carried by the Runners' vendortron.
For some reason, I'm missing every single shot in VATS with a fully-modded desert tan rifle. My skill in Guns is 100 and I have 10 agility, so I'm wondering why this is actually happening. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Hopefully, this gets fixed soon because I'm liking everything else about this mod.
I'll be honest, I hadn't tested that, as I almost never use VATS. I'll give it some testing soonish and see if I can replicate the issue. I assume none of your other weapons has this same issue?
EDIT: After a good bit of testing, I can report that my copy of the rifle performs admirably in VATS. You can direct message me, though, if yours isn't, and I'll try to work through the issue with you.
Same problem here, also with 100 Guns and 10 Agility. I'm using the balanced version at moment, haven't tried it with the extreme version. Did you get a fix for this? No matter what distance my target is I always get 0% chance on any body part. I love this mod and only use VATS occasionally so I can live without it if necessary but would be nice to have. I run a very small mod list so highly doubt it's any kind of conflict and also have it at the bottom of my load order. Great mod otherwise, really enjoy using it, thanks for the share!
Cool gun but it seems a bit oversized. It looks like it is based off of a "scout rifle" which is usually a smaller rifle. But other than that, looks pretty good.
