Why no 3rd person leaning: Because it's a different beast entirely, that requires to be part of camera mod. No way around that. And yes I tried. And no it didn't work with just making player funny bending leftright. Camera shiz is musthave. I might make one, but let's focus on what's here and now.
UPDATE 0.15b Significant perf optimizations All "toggle this toggle that lean like this hold like that give me x give me y" requests implemented. Added NPC detection (only when you are being searched for, so it won't ruin your "just peeking" stealth). All in the ini. Off by default. Enhanced Camera users - take a hike, NPC detection won't work for you, and if you have problems with that - go pester LogicDragon UPDATE 0.16b Fixed possible variable failure if used with HotReload, or if game poops itself during saveloading cycle. UPDATE 0.172b hotfix Fixed disappearing/pushback of weapons that don't use 1st person ironsights animations fixed a typo in distance check that broke autolean UPDATE 0.18b hotfix Fixed disappearing/pushback of weapons that don't use 1st person ironsights animations Added Tweaks override for bKeepFallHeightOnLoad that caused crashes when it was enabled. Fixed leaning getting stuck when entering & exiting containers
UPDATE 0.19b Added new feature - separate camera lean amount. Now you can have different camera and weapon lean! Just like in fancy new Modern Warfare games! Obviously, configurable in the ini file. Look for CamLeanAmount. Setting it to 1 will make it same as it was before this update.
UPDATE 0.20b Attempt to fix a bug where NPCs would wave their hands randomly. I couldn't reproduce it, so this is blind shot. It's possible that some new nodes were either conflicting or data race was happening for whatever reason. After brief testing, person who had that bug, confirmed it fixed. Let's see if it works for the rest of people who got that bug.
Using the Q key always triggers auto move for me and no matter what I do, even remapping keys still causes Q to trigger auto move. I use an Xbox Elite with reWASD for the record, I rigged the P4 button to reqister as Q. I tried switching the keys, like changing auto move to a key not used by the vanilla game (like Y), but then when I hit Q auto move triggers as usual. What is up with this?
Does this actually make your character 'expose' less of their body when leaning around corners? Or is it mostly just a cool aesthetic thing that doesn't actually effect the probability of NPCs hitting you?
Hello! In my case for some reason character just leans the camera with no peak (you basically see the same image but with littered horizon). Why could that be?
I'm already increased the value responsible for leaning but it doesn't seem to work for me.
EDIT: Detected conflict w/ Enhanced Camera. Sorry for asking if it already had been asked, but is there any fix?
Hey, this looks good! I was wondering, if leaning is turned off in Enhanced Camera and default settings are used, can the NPC detection work with the rest of Enhanced Camera enabled?
This mod has been really amazing but the only issue I've been having is that whenever I press Q, my character starts walking forward. It doesn't happen when I press E to lean though.
The mods I downloaded are all those from the Viva New Vegas guide, though I'm not sure if that's a compatibility issue since the E button works fine. Any fix to it? Please and thank you
When in the game, press Escape button (top left corner on your keyboard) then, click on "Settings" then, click on "Controls" then, click on "Auto Move" and press new key you would like to use for Auto Move instead of Q.
I have some probably super simple questions, but I'm stumped and would love help. When I hit Q, I auto run, how do I disable auto-run. Also, I'm using the loot menu mod, and when I hit E to grab an item from a inventory, I lean and I don't like that. any ideas? Appreciate anyone that helps!
Just reassign Auto Run to something you don't use and as for the E, idk, that's probably a mod as E in vanilla is only used in menus and to interact with the world, not as a use item hotkey.
Never mind it works, its just real specific on how you trigger the contextual lean on controller. It seems you have to touch the corner outside of aim, then aim once you're on the corner. Right lean seems to work better than left lean.
How did you make manual leaning to work? No matter, what I change, contextual is the only thing that works. Even angle and steps changes don't work for some odd reason. I'm actually clueless
I was talking about contextual. The only way to do manual on controller is map the manual lean buttons on the keyboard to your controller using Steam controller settings. Its best to use a controller with additional buttons like an Xbox Elite controller.

Also, due to use of new JIP function aliases (I had to fight character limit for update), mod now requires JIP LN NVSE version 57.15 or higher

Thank you!
open the ini in steamapps > common > fallout new vegas > data > config > b42Leaning
