About this mod

Fixes strange oversights when it comes to what creatures the Animal Friend perk affects. Alternative files offer a version omitting Night Stalkers (for the purists out there) and one with an expanded selection of pacified foes. Now also fully compatible with Tale of Two Wastelands!

Changelogs
Animal Friend is a rather specific, but fun perk. Who doesn't like being one with the nature and not having to hurt dogs as you wipe out Caesar's Legion? What hinders it, however, is the fact certain animals are still hostile... for some strange reason. This mod offers a fix for the problem by adding omitted creatures into the appropriate faction, which results in Animal Friend affecting them. YUP fixes are forwarded wherever necessary.

All Donation Points earned from this mod go to the Wildlife Conservation Society!

Due to the sheer amount of creatures and creature leveled lists, it's possible I have missed some records when making this mod, especially in the Enhanced version. Please comment if you find any creature I missed, preferrably with its FormID, so that fixing the problem is easier on my end.

This mod comes in three versions, not counting the TTW variants (originally provided to me by VoxelVarmint):
Vanilla
Only adds the omitted creatures to the Animal Friend faction. Those are:
  • Fire Geckos (including Legendary Fire Gecko)
  • Yao Guai (excluding Ghost of She)
  • Lakelurks (including Lakelurk King)
  • OWB Cyberdogs (including Gabe)

Puppy Hater
Same as above, but removes Nightstalkers and Legendary Nightstalker from the perk effect, due to being classed as Abominations.
For all you heartless snake-puppy haters out there.

Enhanced
Contains the same fixes as the Vanilla version, but also adds the following creatures to the Animal Friend faction:
  • Deathclaws (including Legendary Deathclaw, Stripe from OWB and Rawr from LR)
  • Tunnelers
  • Cazadores (including Legendary Cazador)
  • Radscorpions
  • Bark Scorpions
  • Radroaches (including the cut Irradiated Radroach)
  • Giant Ants (including Giant Ant Queen)
  • Fire Ants (including Fire Ant Queen)
  • Giant Mantises
  • Bloatflies (including Legendary Bloatfly)

Requirements:
Due to how the fixes are implemented, these are the requirements for each file. Support will not be provided for versions without DLCs.
Vanilla - Honest Hearts, Old World Blues
Puppy Hater - Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, YUP
Enhanced - Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, Lonesome Road, YUP
Puppy Hater TTW - Tale of Two Wastelands and all of its associated plugins
Enhanced TTW - same as above

FAQ
Q: Load order?
A: Load below YUP, preferably near the bottom. Shouldn't conflict with any other ESM files, but better to be safe than sorry.

Q: Conflicts?
A: Will conflict with any other mod that edits the same records. Should work out of the box with other mods using vanilla records (including mods restoring the Irradiated Radroach), as long as the records themselves are not edited.

Q: Why are Lakelurks and Fire Geckos included in the Vanilla version?
A: Lakelurks are actually already classed as animals by the game, for the purposes of perks such as Hunter. As for Fire Geckos, in an unpatched (that is, without YUP) version of the game, some of them actually had the Animal Friend faction assigned already. YUP, instead of expanding it to all of them, removed the faction record from those Fire Geckos.

Q: Reasoning behind the inclusions in the Enhanced version?
A: I tried my best to stick to lore and logic. Deathclaws are, primarily (spliced genetics), Jackson's chameleons. Tunnelers seem to be mutated reptiles of some sort, despite using the Trog rig. Cazadores, although spliced together in a lab, are based on the real life tarantula hawk wasps. Radscorpions and bark scorpions are, you know... (mutated) scorpions, which are animals. Radroaches, giant/fire ants, giant mantises and bloatflies are all (again, mutated) insects, which are also animals.
