Amazing mod, it's a permanent addition in my mod setup! Using this along with Mental Stability System makes for a truly horrifying game.
However, I found myself going through every single audio looking for that stupid guy going "HEY, BEHIND YOU!" or just shouting "f*#@!" for no reason, which just sounds like an angry uncle shouting from the other room asking for his cigarettes. It's a dumb idea and annoying. Plus, ghostly whispers don't fit Fallout either. I removed all those by replacing them with silent WAV files instead.
How is this mod "most frequent in Dead Money/ Lonesome Road" DLC, I didn't notice any scripts in it or anything that might make it more frequent in those worldspaces? Or did you just meant that it's more frequent there because those areas have more "dungeons" and therefore the player will just hear it more often by default? I'm asking because I wanted to make a version of it where it only affects Dead Money and nothing else (Infusing the idea of that area's Cloud playing with people's psyche).
It's been a while since I worked on this mod, but if I remember correctly, each ambient sound has a configurable chance and priority, and the sounds that play in DM and LR have those numbers higher than the other sounds.
so this mod made me feel the need to leave my game so i could give you this positive comment. like i said on my post for your other mod it really builds up a creepy sense i mean I'm in a vault and i know that no one is here but i heard Som screams and was immediately on alert. seriously great work!!!
Out of all the mods I have, this is def one of my favourite ones, hell it's integral to my ttw character. Solid 9/10, love it to bits. Was also wondering, will there be any plans for a ttw version of REDUX? And if you're still working on REDUX, and need a british guy sluring words in anger as a voice, would love to help work on it. Keep up the good work man, can't wait for the upcoming banger. quick edit: I feel the game INDIKA would be one hell of a inspirations for it if you wanna look into it, with the black comedy and stuff in it, feels it def fits the fallout theme
Thank you! I'm still working on it, though progress has been slow lately because I've been busy with IRL stuff. And I definitely plan to do a TTW version, but finishing up the New Vegas version is my priority right now. After that's out and all major bugs (if any crop up) are taken care of, I'll start work on the TTW version. With that being said though, the New Vegas version will work flawlessly with TTW, you just won't be getting any unique voice lines reacting to in-game events until you get to the Mojave.
hell yea, can't wait for it to come out. any moments you don't mind spoiling to tide me and others over? also, personal peeve, feel like any mention to benny by name before meeting him or house kinda hurts immersion. know it doesn't matter, we all know him and don't care, but the one complaint i have about redux so far due to roleplay aspects. that aside, which honestly isn't that big of a issue tbh, looking forward to it, got me tweaking dawg, keep up the good work!
I'll be releasing something like a trailer/teaser soon, so you'll get a nice good look at what's to come. And you raise a good point in regards to the mention of Benny's name, I thought about it myself when I was writing the lines. But in the end I decided to keep it, because I kinda like the implication that the voices somehow know more than you do. But if enough people complain about it when the mod eventually comes out, I'll probably provide alternative voice lines.
This is an absolute brilliant of a mod. Extremelly unique and not immersion-breaking. My only suggestion is adding more sound and voices variations after/during the completion of DLCs, cause each of them definitely would leave a psyche scar on a protagonist (maybe add some of the voice lines from those dlcs as a constant ethereal reminder of the horrors experienced?). Love the work you've done with this, if I'm ever returning to FO4, your "deranged" mod is on my autoinstall list.
Loved it! This fit perfectly with my current playthrough One suggestion i have for the TTW version is, isteand/along Benny, you can hear Dad's voice. This change could add much more for Lone Wanderer's trauma on James's death.
I Installed the NV version in my TTW mid playthrough, thinking I will only heard in NV, but some dungeons i listen voices some voices. .. One could say its a bug, but god damm is very good feature to start my very bad character
A lot of interiors use the same "sound pools" across both wastelands, so unfortunately it's impossible for me to isolate the sounds from this mod to just one wasteland when playing TTW. For that I would have to completely rework the way the sounds in this mod are implemented.
