      Who told you that you can't fire 7.62 Nato out of a .308? They're literally just different loadings of the same cartridge

   What's the damage reduction? 0.95? Would make the most sense. The max pressure of 7.62x51 is 415 MPa or 60,191 psi, where as for .308 Winchester it's 62,000 psi (430 MPa). So the damage reduction shouldn't be too large.
