I'm using this with the MTB Remastered mod and the MTB file found on this page here, but the Capital Wasteland truck doesn't get the prompt to fix it. Now, I know this might be asking a lot, but if you would look into fixing that you can have my firstborn with sugar on top 😁

I really like this initiative! I love Mobile Truck Base but it really does make things a little too convenient, and basically invalidates all the other player homes.

If you want to develop this mod further, do you think it could be possible to create individual repair requirements for the various utilities in the truck in order for them to become functional? So you'd have to repair (preferably with parts) the kitchen to get the stove working, the workbench to get workbench access and so on and so on?

It is possible, since all of these objects are scripted. What requirements would you suggest for various utilities?

Could be nice to take advantage of more junk items to add fun little hoarding activity for the player. Some of the junk items are underused. I wanted to use more stuff for engine repair, but thought 6 or 7 ingredients is a lot already. Maybe this way I can spread them out through different utilities, since now just the travel ability alone (and mobile stash) won't be as powerful without repairing utilities.

But I think just adding the same repair menu with different component would be too boring. Would be cool if these items would be missing from the truck initially, and you had to acquire them somehow. But not sure how to do it. Clicking on an empty place where a bench should be sounds dumb. Some kind of interaction outside of the truck, where you'd have to travel to various places to upgrade your truck... Maybe a full-blown quest. Some note in one of the containers, explaining how the truck ended up at the scrapyard, and hints to locations of upgrade items...

I don't know how the truck interior would look with all the amenities gone, but for immersion I think having it start out completely barren and then adding the elements as you go would be most fun. It's very likely the inside would look bad with all the stuff gone, however, and so it might mean a lot of work to make it look ok.

I think interacting with an empty space is an okay approach for the easiest possible implementation. You could have the pop-up say something like "You think you'd be able to mount a collapsible bed here if you had the materials" and it would require some amount of Repair, a bedroll, some scrap metal and probably another junk part or two.

A series of quests would not be bad, but sounds like a ton of effort to implement. I'd also want to maintain the ability to chose upgrades in any order.

Ideally I'd like to make the upgrades not just take effort but also some caps since more sinks are needed. If you're interested in adding extra content like quests, the easiest implementation would probably be a mechanic NPC somewhere that you can bring some parts to and for a fee of a few hundred caps or so they can install your choice of upgrades.

This is so essential. One of those things that should have been an optional version of the mod from the start.
