Holy- This is awesome. I just started working on an update for the new files, but I might just rename mine as a legacy version, haha. Thanks for the credit too, appreciate it!
I don't know if this will help other Vortex users, but it worked for me after turning on the 'BSA redirection' option in the Vortex Settings -> Workarounds. After turning BSA on, I disabled and re-enabled all my mods just to be sure and it worked. I guess for a fresh install you just need to turn this option on before doing anything.
This is kinda weird, I had the mod working with NMC, then I got Legacy Reborn and the roads went back to normal, I reinstalled your mod and made sure it loads last. All of a sudden the game crashes whenever I load into it, even after removing your mod. No matter what I do now it crashes. Was it wrong from me to just hit uninstall on this mod?
I feel like after a nuke apocalypse and cars being a fuel-less epidemic that led to the apocalypse (fallout lore) would make more sense if the roads weren't repainted after the disaster imo? Maybe do a version without the yellow lines. I mean who are they for? The roads aren't even intact. That paint is worn off! Makes sense they would rebuild or repaint stuff they actively use in the mojave but broken roads for cars that don't run anymore???
Feel like I'm going nuts trying to get this to work. My road textures remain vanilla no-matter what. Even with Spiffy's legacy reborn the textures are vanilla?
(Ignore me, good old archive invalidation strikes again)
Hey y'all, if you want to use this mod with Vortex, I found the solution from running into the same issue where nothing changes from vanilla despite being enabled and deployed.
add a .txt file in your game directory (the one that has the .exe files) named "ArchiveInvalidation.txt"
That is odd. There should be no reason for that. I recommend checking your modlist to make sure your mod organizer isn't playing tricks on you, but if all is fine, maybe Try to set the same textures (But Nmcs version) as hidden, of if you have to, delete them.
This mod is such a fragile nightmare to get to work, one minute it's fine, the next I add or take away a mod and this one starts refusing to do any damn thing. how do I get this to work on vortex, or should I just give up and try a manual install?
MutantModder is there anyway you could update this to work with mod mangers because seems to be a problem with having to manually add a .txt file as others have posted.
Would be possible to "tone- down" little bit the yellow stripes , they look kind of too bright for an old asphalt road, fadind in the sun. It´s true, as Odawgthecool said, that´s how there were made in classics- almost pristine new looking ( somehow ) and I agree. Still, they quite stick-out of the road. Maybe to make them less "pronounced" would probably fit better to surroundings?
On the other side, I really like how you made-up texture smoothly passing into dirt by the roads, like in classics, that´s great! Eather way, thanks for mod.

2. Click on "<Manage...>"
3. activate/deactivate Archive invalidation
add a .txt file in your game directory (the one that has the .exe files) named "ArchiveInvalidation.txt"
in this file add the text:
textures/landscape/roads/roadwasteland01.dds
textures/landscape/roads/roadwasteland01_lod.dds
textures/landscape/roads/roaddetails01.dds
textures/landscape/roads/gravelroadwasteland01
textures/landscape/asphaltstrip.dds
textures/landscape/asphaltwasteland01.dds
textures/landscape/asphaltwasteland03.dds
This trick works for other Mod Manager intended mods that don't show up with Vortex.
let me know if this has helped anyone else! love the mod!
