    • New Vegas map is slightly misaligned. I tried the best I could. If you think you can do better, no permission is needed to edit/redistribute this mod.
    • Sierra Madre, Zion (Honest Hearts), and Lonesome Road maps are slightly misaligned. Replace those maps with this mod, if it bothers you. Or you can try to fix the alignment yourself.

Thanks so much .. just started a TTW 3.3.2a playthrough.  The world map was horrendous. I can actually see the roads with the 8K map and the removed tinting.  I was using DarnUI instead of VUI+ ,, but i switched for this :)

I don't know if this is intended but this mod removes the scanlines and dirt on the pip-boy background (Im using the 2000 MK VI) and leaves the background looking plain black

All of that is intended, in the optional file, "Map Improvements", yes. You do not need to use those improvements, if you do not want them though.

Personally, I think it helps make the map easier to read.

The maps are not in color for me and very dark.

Use the "Map Improvements" files, located under the downloads (A.K.A. "Files"), for them to be in color and bright.

I would love a brightness/color solution that does not require VUI+, i still prefer darn.  VUI+ and other hud modifiers are too oversized and ugly.

You don't have to use VUI+ at all. It's only for needed the "Map Improvements" files, such as resizing icons to be smaller and modifying zoom levels. Shiloh's Clean Pip-Boy UI also increases map brightness.

there must be some other unlisted dependency then, because installing it without vui: openeing the map is just a black screen on the pipboy.  I tried your reccomendation for Shiloh's pip and at least that does brighten it though, ty.

There should be no other dependency. The main files are just a texture replacements, same as the mod "Satellite World Map". I think it is either a mod conflict, or you installed the the "Map Improvements" files, and now you need to uninstall those files by deleting them.

just to be clear, the basic map works fine (is dark, but works)
adding the map improvements is when the screen goes black (without vui+ installed).

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. With no VUI+ and adding the Map Improvements, the map is a black screen, unfortunately. :/ Otherwise, the standard edition works but is, of course, monochromatic green. Thank you for the mod, though! :) I was looking for something like this after coming back from FO4.

Do you have the latest VUI+ (9.47+, Nov 26, 2022+) installed?

Just a head up, the file pathing is borked on map improvements, missing "Interface" folder

You are right. Fixed. Thank you for posting this. For reference, I used modified files from Clean Pip-Boy 2022 and VUI+ .

I really like these maps! It may be an issue on my end, but when I install the clean map and max brightness optional file it breaks the inventory menu.

Sorry about that! Have you installed the latest version of Vanilla UI + ? The mod was updated Nov. 26, 2022.  And are you using the "New Vegas" Vanilla UI + version??

No need to apologize, I was the one that wasn't up to date! It's hard to keep up with mod updates that aren't on the nexus. Thanks for letting me know there was an update, sorry to bother ya for something so trivial!

Seems to be a lag when switching to the map. Can you make a 1k version?

I get that too! I'm not sure what the problem is, because Satellite World Map is a much bigger image/file, but doesn't have this problem.

Wonder if it's because yours are not in resolutions of power of two? Your 1k version isn't 1024x1024. It's 700x854 which might cause problems.

@Audley, good idea! I'll try that.

Edit: Should be fixed. Not being 4096 x 4096 was the problem.

I cannot seem to get used to the Fo3/FNV map layouts. Maybe this will help. Thanks for doing this.
