Yeah, I had my load order weirded out, I managed to fix it and finally after 3 plus years of modding FNV, I get to see rain :D

For some reason this mod causes my bushes in Freeside to flicker. Probably mod incompatibility. I am using Desert Natural Weathers. Does anyone else experience this?

Edit: I notice the bushes you use in your video appear to be different than the ones in the Vanilla game...

i'm not using anything that replaces the bushes, never run into this issue. is it only in freeside? and only when it's raining? do you have the CC - Rain plugins all the way at the bottom of your load order? how does the flashing look?

      • I have "CC - Rain.esp" and "CC - 3D Rain.esp" located at the bottom of my plugin list.
      • I can't get it to rain anywhere else right now, but so far I have only noticed in it Freeside, and only when it rains.
      • It looks like this bush, plus Z-fighting. Z-fighting looks like this, the flickering, but only on the bush mesh/texture. The bush is there and then disappears, like 10 times in the span of a second.

      • It's not a mod conflict:
(I disabled all my mods, and once I did that I could not get it to rain in Freeside anymore. So, I guess it doesn't rain in Vanilla Freeside? So, I enabled just "Desert Natural Weathers", "CC - Rain.esp", and "CC - 3D Rain.esp". It still happened.)

      • It's not a mesh or texture conflict:
(I removed all my custom mesh and texture folders, except for the ones here and climate control. It still happened.)

I use ILS shaders, but the game doesn't let me remove that. I don't know what it could be, maybe one of my nvse mods... I don't use New Vegas Reloaded. I use dxvk. But, removing the two meshes, found here, fixes it.

I have no idea, i thought it might have been the animated speedtree bushes flickering, but if its the static mesh creosote bush then i dont even know where to start. could be a missing texture for the bush causing it to rapidly switch between textures in the scene.

... It doesn't happen to you? If not, I am going to guess that is because I have an AMD G.P.U. (6900 xt), and I will test this theory later, on my other computer. And I will upload a video of what it looks like.

yeah ive never experienced it, not even anything remotely similar. AMD GPU could definitely be the issue, let me know once youve tested it out and recorded a vid and we'll go from there. I dont have an AMD GPU so I can't test it myself, but we gonna get this resolved!

So, I finally had time to test this out more. Sorry I am a procrastinator. The bug is fixed for me. I think it only happened in Freeside, and the mod I am using "Desert Natural Weathers" was updated to remove rain in Freeside. Thanks anyways for your responses! :)

there are two parts to the rain effect, the 3d raindrops themselves, and 2d puffs of clouds. basically like mist or spray from the rain. no mist removes that effect.

Hi, the v2.0 doesn't seems to work with Desert Natural Weather.
    My load order:
    Desert Natural Weather
    Desert Natural Realism Redux
    Climate Control NVSE
    Climate Control - Rain
    3D Rain
    Climate Control - 3D Rain

    I also use xNVSE 6.3.4

Edit: ok it works, it was a load order issue. In Vortex you got to go to the plugin section, to be sure that Climate Control - Rain is loaded AFTER Desert Natural Weather.

I don't get it. You said to load CC 3D Rain after DNW but that's how it is in the load order you show and I'm having the same issue where it doesn't seem to work.

if you're using vortex, you should double check that the plugins themselves are in the correct order, not just the mod files.

Kudos to you man! Is there a chance that you will implement it to Fallout 3 too? I'm in that small part of the fanbase that loves both games, and 3 would really benefit from this :D

With TTW I think you can mod both games so to speak

Yeah, I know that. I just play Fallout 3 without Tale of Two Wastelands (TTW) because a lot of good mods, like Dynamic Weather, are not compatible with TTW. And I can bet a million dollars that I'm not alone in this

For those wondering if this has a performance impact, this actually runs better than the vanilla rain.

did you download and install climate control - rain (both regular and 3d rain version, you should have two plugins) and put them at the bottom of your load order?

Hi, I've attempted to diagnose this problem myself but have been unable to. Whenever I look up in-game the rain disappears completely and there are visible seams in the sky texture. I've already made cure Climate Control - Rain is loaded after DNV in Vortex. I've checked for mod conflicts but none appear to exist; I have a couple lighting mods but nothing else that affects weather as far as I know, and the lighting mods are loaded before DNV at any rate. Can anyone help me figure this out?
