Welcome to UFOS of the Wild Wasteland!
I have left this mods images and videos open so you can add any screenshots or gameplay you get !-


if you are new to UFOS of the wild wasteland its best to skip reading updates for obvious reasons and go straight to the description but if you are returning to the mod for updates, the update Log is located right at the top of the mod

Main mod update V3.1.01 - optimization  -  - 2024 - 03 - 17

The mod prior to this point was not taking full advantage of GIR - Which was an oversight by me in the early days - 

So its still very much just version 3 with some optimizations which is denoted by the .1, the .01 shows that it works alongside the optional Perk change still . 

Also comes with some small ini text changes, hopefully better explaining it. 

Author comment - 

I will appreciate any feedback regarding how this works alongside existing playthroughs. - I am also eagerly awaiting play footage of this mod, so if you have any.


Optional download - UFO Hunter - 2024 - 02 - 03


This is an optional download for people who have installed the main mod - will change the perk name to "UFO Hunter" from "Wild wasteland UFOS" - if this optional addition gets many downloads it will be added to the main mod as a permanent change.




UFO Spawn Variation and INI config update was Uploaded with the Wrong ESP 2022 - 12 - 25

I uploaded V3 with the V2 ESP so nothing was changed so this update has changed it so V3 has the V3 ESP. The ini will now work and the cotton wood cove and fort bias are truly gone.

UFO Spawn Variation and INI config update 2022 - 12 - 20

This update adds a new INI file located here "Fallout New Vegas\Data\config\WIldWastelandUFO(GIR)"


These are all of the Values which can be configured - in the ini they are explaind:
randOverride;
Pickme;
TroopTransportRandOverride;
ToopTransportType;
Consolelog;
UFOKillCount;

Also changes the UFO selection script because it had a bias towards cotton wood cove and the fort 

UFO Hunting, spawn rates & bug fixing Update - 2022 - 11 - 28

This update adds a new perk rank for "Wild wasteland UFOS"

rank 1 adds sound cues when a UFO enters the wasteland
rank 2 tells you roughly the location of the UFO - Making UFO hunting much easier if you are willing to take the opportunities - if you are willing to drop 
everything you are doing and get to the location, whether by walking, observing or using fast travel you have a small window to hunt them or observe them.

Spawn Rates - 
Increase the possibility that the UFOS will have a chance to enter the Mojave

Bug fixing - 

Fixes an issue with the scripts that might have prevented some of the UFOS from spawning

The last update added some cool stuff but this one is probably favourite because its a feature I wanted to include on mod launch and it really makes UFO hunting and spotting much more possible

Weapon Diversity Update, unused content removal & difficulty update- 2022 - 11 - 23


This update adds Shock rods and Alien Blasters to:
  • The standard Infantry;
  • the captain;
  • special forces; 

Aliens which have kept the original weapons - the TriBeam Blaster Rifle:
  • ELT;
  • Alien builder;
  • Creature controller;

with this update adding the ability for the aliens to do melee charges, it has just got 10x more wild. nothing funnier than these guys getting dropped off and swarming you with shock batons while the others cover with Alien blasters. Also with the addition of the Much more accurate and higher damage Alien blaster this mod just got a lot more difficult.

This fallout new Vegas game content expansion brings relative to the base game absolutely tons of Zetan/alien related content - from UFOS to Alien Special forces all the way to a rare encounter with an abomination and even the ability to build a UFO spotting tower .

when you install this mod, and enter your game at first you will not notice much of a difference apart from the perks. But as time goes on the chances that you spot a UFO will Increase as because this is fallout your stats and perks play a fairly big role in deciding how the aliens respond to you.
For example, do you have incredibly low charisma? because its almost useless? well to the aliens its not. if you have a low charisma level the zetans are much more likely to launch airstrikes and special forces attacks against you, so unless you have one of the new perks added by this mod that could be a nasty surprise.

You can just install this mod now with its requirements, and experience the content without any spoilers as below I am going to describe in detail exactly what has been added by this mod.

TTW
I reviewed the F&Q of TTW but have done no testing so would appreciate any playtest feedback however:

This mod is built entirely in FNV and it seems according to the TTW F&Q that most mods built in FNV can be used with TTW, and given this mod doesn't add any scripts in Fallout 3 I am pretty certain it can be used with TTW. 


Other mods
compatible with every mod - with the one exception being regions, which not many mods seem to edit. but a little while ago I created a mod to make some compatible called global imposter region




Quests

This mod doesn't add conventional questing via the pipboy, as the decisions you make when encountering the UFOS will decide what happens. and let me just say if you are a pacifist you can still have some enjoyable encounters, but it pales in comparison to the players who are warmongers. 

The pacifist route - 

If you dont want to attack the aliens for personal reasons, then this mod will be more of a Wild wasteland encounter mod, sort of similar to the base game. you can watch the night sky and wait for the glowing orbs to pass by, this mod adds plenty of UFOS to unique locations. and if you take this route you could make it your missions
to find them all.

The warmonger route -

This is when the game begins, when you destroy your first UFO the clock will tick, and eventually the aliens will respond.



Combat

This is the majority of the mods core content- just something to note is that I used smoke signals to communicate with the player what is happening, so its less about the  aliens technology and more about gameplay. and from my perspective it makes the encounters much more unique as it adds a nice battlefield aftermath 

Airstrikes
Depending on your stats and perks and UFO kill count the aliens will send in airstrikes with increasing frequency as these numbers grow or decrease
The first stages of an alien land assault.

The Zetans
This mod adds a variety of unique zetans with special abilities -



Alien infantry
You have your standard Alien infantry who make up the bulk of the land assaults

The alien captain
This Zetan gets dropped in all of the Alien Troop Transport drop types, and will provide the aliens with Bonus health as long as its alive

Alien Location Transmitter - ELT

This Alien Type when dropped from a ship will begin to call Airstrikes on the Player character, but different from the regular airstrikes the Alien Places a smoke
marker on you to help make the Strikes more precise

Alien Builder

This alien Types will Build a fortification if its not killed too early

Alien Reinforment coordinator

This alien should be killed quickly, because if you dont it will call in additional forces the longer its alive. similar to the ELT this alien uses smoke signals to help guide the UFOS to the exact location

Alien Special Forces
These Zetans are stronger, faster and have unique apparel. they will target you in the deepest parts of the Mojave, inside or out. Using their invisibility they can sneak up on you .

Creature Controller
This zetan is responsible for controlling Abominations, however this is a very unique Troop Transport so you might never see it. if you kill this Zetan the abomination that it governs will go back to its native behaviour 

Abomination

This is a wasteland creature which has had unspeakable things done to it, and is being controlled by the Zetan above . when looking at the zetan Lore I saw a lot of cool concept art surrounding the idea of alien abominations, and read about how they did unspeakable things to creatures of the fallout wastelands. this was inspired by that.

The UFOS
These Alien vehicles can all be killed and will reward XP upon death

Airstirkes

A fast UFO which will strafe the player throughout the game. 


Close encounters


These UFOS regularly leave the comfort of space and fly right down to the Mojave floor to conduct reconnaissance and will be the easiest to kill

Alien flyovers

These UFOS are passing by the Mojave of their way to other wild wasteland activities

Troop Transport drops

These UFOS are used to land troops


The perks

Wild Wasteland UFOs
Wild Wasteland UFOS is a perk which gives sound cues When a Wacky UFO enters the Mojave. Not for the faint of heart or the serious of temperament.

This perk as of version 3 comes with 2 ranks - 
rank 1 adds sound cues when a UFO enters the Mojave
rank 2 gives you location information to make hunting and observing easier

unidentifiable
There's nothing unidentifiable about your damage bonus against Zetans - this is a earned

zetarmination

zetarmination! you have killed 50 Zetan commanders.  - this is a earned


Weapons and armour

This mod comes with a few unique weapons -

This mod also solves the base game issues with alien ammunition availability 

ELT- Enemy Location Transmitter -

This weapon can be used by the Player to Call in airstrikes using the UFOs

OPT- Object Placement Tool -
This weapon is used by the aliens to build from available materials, but given you dont know how to use it your left with its last settings which happen to be a very useful UFO spotting Tower

Armour
The only piece of armour in this mod is Variation in a Player usable Alien helmet -

Installation

Manual installation - 
The mod files are setup so that the "data/" folder is the root. so just drag and drop that into the folder containing your fallout new Vegas executable  and then activate the ESP in "data files", archive invalidate, and the vehicle will be in your game

Mod manager installation - 
The mod files are structured correctly, so you are good to install with your mod manager.
