About this mod

Bobby pins will break instantly (well, 1 microsecond) after the lock stops turning. Port of my FO3 "mod".

Permissions and credits
This is the exact same single-record .esp as in my Harder Lockpicking: Pins Break Instantly mod for Fallout 3. I think it should work here without any changes, but if it doesn't, tell me and I'll just delete this.

Description of the original FO3 mod below:

---------------------

Bobby pins will break instantly (well, 1 microsecond) after the lock stops turning.

This was a houserule I've been enforcing upon myself to play under for a long time, as otherwise I end up with more bobby pins on me than caps. Today I just decided to try and see if there was a way to make the game enforce it, and turns out there is.

Still quite easy, trust me: Very Easy locks will seldom break more than 2 pins, and there's like a 33% chance or so they don't break any (moreorless, speaking from experience, not hard data).

Personally I heavily recommended this no matter what, but I do it even strongly if you're using Explosive Entry, (or my eternal love FOOK2 , which inludes it).

I guess I should give credit to AshenBonfire : I could not figure out how to do this, until I took a look at the script in their Skillful Lockpickery mod for New Vegas and saw the iPickBreakSecs game setting used there. Then it was a matter of opening FO3Edit, creating a masterless .esp, and creating a gamesetting record in it with EditorID iPickBreakSecs (this is the important part) and value 0.000001.

Can you beleive than , before I upload this mod, iPickBreakSecs returns 0 google results? If anybody knows the proper channels, feel free to document this.

Being a masterless patch, this should also work in New Vegas, and probably Skyrim too. Hell, it may even work in Fallout 4, though looking at the wikia there's a perk there whose 4th rank makes them unbreakable (maybe through a lockping bonus health setting), so maybe not - feel free to comment on whether it works for Syrim and F4, and if it does, I'll upload this on their nexuses too.

If you want the exact opposite, there's my Unbreakable Lockpicks mod, which I am gonna upload in just a couple minutes.

Fun fact: I could not for the life of me find an image of a broken bobby pin through Google Image Search, so I had to settle for a broken lockpick.
