Made an optional no backpack version for those of you who didn't want the backpack. Enjoy the mod

Hello. First update to a mod for the new year. I will get to the point on something right now. I will NOT be doing a version of this mod that includes Van Graff Helmets for the Van Graffs. Someone else can do it though. Just need to get permission from the original mod author to do so.

    Excellent mod.

    Here are streamlined installation instructions:
    Spoiler:
    Show

    1. Install mod Classic Fallout 2 combat armor Mark 2 (remastered) main file "Fallout 2 combat armor mark II (green textures) v1.0.0.3" and its miscellanious file "Textures - desert vanilla".
    2. Install this mod main file Classic Combat Armor Replacer Redux FNV and its update Mk2 Replacer Redux Patch.

Load order for folders (in your mod manager of choice):
    1. Fallout 2 combat armor mark II (green textures) v1.0.0.3 <--- Disable its plugin "Fallout 2 combat armor MK2 (remastered) replacer.esp" !!!
    2. Textures - desert vanilla
    3. Classic Combat Armor Replacer Redux FNV <--- this mod main file
    4. Mk2 Replacer Redux Patch <--- this mod patch

    Load order for plugins:
    1. Classic Combat Armor Replacer Redux FNV.esp
    2. Mk2 Replacer Redux Patch.esp
Nothing else, but don't forget to disable "Fallout 2 combat armor MK2 (remastered) replacer".esp" !!!

If you're using YUP you might want to make a merge patch since this mod overwrites one change, the Value of the armor from 9000 to 8000.

Godsend. But what if we also want to use the brotherhood combat armor replacer?

Not sure what Im doing wrong but even loading it at the very bottom of my load order didn't get it to apply to the Van Graffs, specifically.

The regular armor shows up fine on me and NPCs, the Mk II shows up fine on me and NPCs - the van graffs version gets the backpack applied to them - but the armor itself stays the same as the vanilla. I've tried to install the plugins in at least a dozen different ways and a dozen different load orders and the result is always exactly the same.

Sadly the Van Graff version is the only part of this mod I actually gave a crap about.

I'm a little confused.  I basically had/have the mods loaded in reverse order on accident, but everything seems to work including Van Graff armors.  I also have a "Combat Armor Backpack" item for sale at various vendors that makes the backpack optional, i.e. the backpack doesn't show up unless you also equip the item -- is that from this mod?

If anyone is having issues, my load order is
    Redux
    Mk2 remastered
    combat armor remastered

Like that, everything seems to work, and only the Mark I has a backpack.  You can stick the No Backpack patch after Redux to remove it from the Mark 1 as well.

I didn't even realize my load order was messed up until I considered maybe getting the desert textures and saw the comments here.

Gonna be real installing these Combat armor replacers hurt my brain. I feel like these could be streamlined a bit more.

in essence you just need the textures from the classic combat armor replacer mod (not replacing all the armors ingame, just new model)
and the classic combat armor MK2 replacer mod (again, just new textures (model) but not replacing all the armors) and then, remove their ESPs.

then, this mods esp should do the work but for me, van graff armors are still not replaced so idk

For some reason, Van Graff's armor doesn't change.

Also happens with the black combat armor, anybody know what causes this?

Edit: I managed to fix mine by putting the esps at the bottom of my plugin load order

I might take a look at it during this summer. I am not joking when I say this, this last semester of college is rough. I need to have my focus all on it. So I apologize if I ain't active for a while.

If you follow VNV mod list, chances are you have JSUE installed, which will conflict with this mod. I've patched it myself. While it does work in-game, I'm still not sure if I patched it properly.

For me the problem is when creating a Bashed Patch with Wrye Bash. I assume you just add a tag to the plugin files but I don't know which.

Same here, have anyone found a fix?

Edit: "fixed" it by loading .ESPs among the last plugins to load, might be a mod conflict.

would you be willing to combine your armor replacers into one fire, similar to Classic Fallout Weapons Replacer Pack?
