About this mod

Reduces the amount companions can carry and adds carry weight to the player for each companion in your party. Also changes how party size is calculated.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
IMPORTANT
You need to dismiss companions and rerecruit them before mod changes will take effect.

Probably best to be at a player home while doing that.


This mod retool
  • Changes how many companions you can have (all credit to Qolore7 for Follower Formula Redone)
  • Adds carry weight to the player when companions are in party.
  • Adds weight to various weightless items (namely currency)

Companion Limits
are now affected by your Charisma. The script that handles this was written by Qolore7 for Follower Formula Redone. Modified slightly by me.
  • Charisma 1 - No companions
  • Charisma 2 thru 4 - 1 Companion
  • Charisma 5 thru 7 - 2 companions
  • Charisma 8 or 9 - 3 companions
  • Charisma 10 - 4 companions

There is also a perk called "Magnetic Personality" which increases the amount of companions you can have by 1, allowing for a maximum of 5 companions with the perk and with a charisma of 10.

Carry Weight Changes
  • Carry weight stats lowered to 50 + 10 * Strength
  • Companion carry weight is lowered to 10 * Strength

The idea is that the lowered carry weight for companions is enough just for them to hold their own armor, weapons, and ammo.

Each companion adds to your carry weight
  • + 10 by default
  • + 10 per companion can be added with the perk "Weighty Words"
  • + 10 per companion can be added by completing their respective companion quests

The idea here is that the companions would be more or more willing to carry some of your items the more you earn their trust.
This mod can be used on its own, but I made it to be used alongside some implementation of the Sawyer mod.

COMPATIBILITY NOTES
The carry weight companion effect is implemented by adding additional effects to each companion's companion perk. This means a few things:
  • This mod won't be compatible out of the box with other mods that change companion perks.
  • Compatibility patches will need to be added for any companion mods you want to use this with.
  • TTW compatibility is not included.

RECOMENDED MODS:

  • ALL THE NPCS USE AMMO NAO or really any mod that makes companions use ammo
  • IStewieAI's Tweaks and Engine Fixes - Specifically I have the settings turned on that allow you to put caps in containers, and the one that gives you no XP for companion kills. Having a small army of companions is kinda overpowered enough without you also getting free XP as they clear out rooms for you.
  • Any implementation of the SawyerMod. I use SawyerBatty.
The mod image is a WIP image for the perk "Weighty Words" that I can't figure out how to implement in GECK without it crashing.
