Encountered a crash when testing this while coming out of the Tops. I'm assuming it would have happened coming out of anywhere. I entered the strip and just bypassed Mr. Holdout and then entered and exited the casino. Crash log was pointing to the the other script involving Mr. Holdout (1535C9). I just added both of the scripts as entries into this plugin and set them to initially disabled and it seems to have fixed the issue. Just figured I'd pass it along in case it wasn't just a random crash on my end.
Thanks! I uploaded a new version containing this fix. There should be no way Mr. Holdout ever approaches or calls out to you, and there shouldn't be any more crashes or issues.
A line in that script said "for press demo release only" but I guess it was actually implemented in the vanilla game in some way - I didn't realize I needed to disable this one also.
I didn't catch that when I looked at it, that's interesting. Saw another script from the press demo near it as well. Might be that the variables for it to trigger wouldn't normally happen because he would stop you the first time to the strip. Either way, glad to have helped. Thanks for updating it.
Could you make a mod that does the opposite of this? Like, Mr. Holdout is wearing the Mysterious Strangers coat, and has a sign that says that he sells weapons. Maybe he could even yell to you like he did in the Beta. Just saying, it would be funny.
