A Mini Nuke, Repconn Toy Rocket, Teddy Bear with dimly lit Cigar, Stick of Dynamite, and a bottle of Russian Vodka *Radium Piss Certified* hanging together from a chain right above the camp fire in the center of the tent. The player will upon realize the artistic machination of horror when they look up.
You might want to provide 10-20 bags or clay pots (using various art assets) under and on the table to provide containers for safe storage. We already has fridge for aid-type items. Good and rare equipment can be stored on that blue trunk. But packrats like me require 20-30 containers to store items in different configurations. Bags, in various size and different art assets, under and on the table, seem a logical addition to this tent.
You might want to think about adding a workbench-type item but using a different nif . Same as reloading-type.
The ham radio and typewriter is unnecessary clutter~ They are taking spaces where the benches can be placed.
Putting the benches outside far from sleeping and eating place is logically in-game. Half-logic, because tehy are going be outdoor, exposed to rain and sun and sands...
Practically though~ We want those benches near the loot containers. When we create some items, we dont want to run ten step, load a new cell, and rummage, then run back. It's an utility issue~
That's the reason why there's tens of mods adding benches and hotplates to playerhome, both vanilla and mods.
I gotcha. I originally had the workbenches inside but decided I wanted at least some utility outside for there to be a reason to explore it. Granted though, I'd argue most of the reason there are so many mods adding workbenches to existing player homes isn't because they aren't immediately accessible, but because they aren't present to begin with.
Basically, they combined an upright gas cannister upright, then put a pot on it. The whole nif then get used with the campfire script (replace the campfire nif).
I would suggest an easier idea, which is instead of a new campfire nif using potbelly... use a hotplate nif, setscale it bigger. I myself usually placeatme the hotplate from deadmoney anywhere I need.
I actually do like the idea of that. I avoided the hot plate at first because it wasn't "tribal" enough, but since I have a chemistry set and ham radio in there anyway it doesn't matter all that much. A big reason why I did the fireplace though was to have something to fill up the middle of the room, so would it be better to replace it with something or leave the free space?
while i agree that this tent home would fit San Bernadino's world space in the mentioned locations a better mod that already has a FNC patch is "portable tribal tent" its basically a tent in a backpack you drop and crouch to activate when you want to use it as a player home and can wear it for the visuals of having a backpack. if also using the mod "portable camping gear" you can use both to make a half decent player home AND even have followers wait in the backpack tent when you leave it and change it to the backpack. meaning its like having your own pocket dimension you can use anywhere. also the Khans didnt get chased out of NCR lands they just never got the chance to settle as they have always been seen as a raider faction which i personally have never liked so using mods like "claim the Mojave" which lets the Khans control base game and dlc locations while not "lore friendly" to be the best way for them to at least get a better deal in the short term
understandable and the solution is to have a follower carry it and take take it back when you want to use it. then again just because it is a wearable backpack that dosnt mean you have to wear it you can use carry it in your inventory and use it as already mentioned as for having a base in red rock canyon i like the idea and kinda wish it was a reward for finishing the quest "oh my papa" so this mod would work nicely in the lore of the game

Potbelly stove instead of campfire. Because of the carpet.

If you want something new there's a newer hotplate redesigned here
If you want something there, you can put a HH wooden chair (without the sit script) there and something on it. It would look tribal/rustic enough.
Either put it at the xiabula tribe (which has merchants, a few pickable plants, and a key quest location) at the southern border of the map.
Or put it in the central part of the map for ease of access to all corners.
The name would need to be changed since no Khans in Sant Bernadino (they got chased out of NCR long time ago).
