Can you make one more ver. that disable the 'free sample' at Goodsprings Cemetery? I think the age of free sample is no longer viable since you can have item browser or item explorer mod if people want to test it out first. I just don't like Millenia's free sample style no kidding, haha
now when i was researching the rifle to rename it on fnvedit, I noticed originally it's a Winchester rifle that was designed by John Browning. Since you are one the original modders that would most likely respond, what name sounds best keeping it a Browning 1885 highwall or a Winchester 1885 highwall.
Great job this reminds me of Another really cool FNV Mod that desperately needs rebalancing and reintegration. Commonwealth Surplus the guns are overpowered compared to vanilla and other FNV Mod guns the leveled lists needs a rework and scripted integration
everything in that Mod fits right in in FNV, it's a shame nobody has attempted to do it
Don't Know if I have a conflict but the inspect animations loop for a long time. Will do some more testing to try and figure out if it's only on my end or what.
Something I would do is add it to the Cowboy perk, sense it is a cowboy firearm. I've done so myself with FNVEdit as well as add a recipe to the great gunsmithing mod for personnel use. I also up the base damage to 80, for reference medicine stick is 78. Giving it a slight buff to make up the fact the brush gun is 75 damage and holds 6, medicine stick holds 8 and this only holds 1. Anyway love your mods, been wanting something like this for ages now. I just love these old single shot guns.
It's already in added to the cowboy formlist by script. This shows up much earlier than the brush gun; it's supposed to be used mostly in the mid game, and it would make sense for it to be ultimately replaced by the other .45-70 weapons by the endgame.
I love the fact you're giving so many great old weapon mods a second life, speak of which one I'd loved revamped is BabyGoat's Ghost and if (big IF since you more than likely already have a lot on your plate so I don't expect you to) you do, may I make a few suggests (which of course you don't have to implement) like changing where & how you get it as I was never tackled with due to it being unbalanced (you can see me in the comments arguing this as well as for a name change which I'll admit was for a pretty boneheaded reason), what I propose is instead have it be a replacement reward from Private Halford for Help for Halford since usually by the time you get to Camp Guardian you have much better gear so his Service Rifle (even in full condition) isn't going to do you much good (would've also recommend We Will All Go Together but DarkPopulous' Service Rifle MK II mod has that covered) and lastly maybe changing it to use 5mm ammo instead of 5.56 since it's suppose to be a unique Assault Carbine (though I am aware of other unique guns using deferent calibers like the Survivalist Rifle & FIDO) also there's already enough guns using that round and having another just seems redundant.
So if you could consider it that would be nice however you don't have to.
