This mod is a time saver. Ran into a bit of a problem with the quest not updating on some books list below
Temple of the union - there are two books that spawn outside after the quests head of state and the waters of life are completed. the books spawn but the quest does update to show where they are. -Grognak the Barbarian -Tales of a Junktown Jerky Vendor
Also at the start of the game during escape vault 101 quest, under a table in the medical office that also does not show a quest marker. -Tales of a Junktown jerky Vendor
Jury Street Metro station - complete the Rube's gold Ribbon unmarked quest inside Gold Ribbon Grocers. the books spawn but the quest did not update to show where they are. -Nikola Tesla and You -Tumblers Today
Falls Church/Mason Dst. Metro, Spawns in a ticket booth at level nine, but quest does not update -Duck and Cover!
Bethesda ruins in Bethesda offices east - on a raider the quest does not show up -U.S. Army: 30 Handy Flamethrower Recipes
Broadcast tower KB5 - on the corpse of a scientist that spawns flying out of the back of a truck -Big Book of Science
Shalebridge - on a dead ant researcher, quest does not update. -Big Book of Science
Sewer way station - carried by a ghoul named Gallo, quest does not update -Tales of a Junktown Jerky Vendor
Hi, I'm playing with the TTW version (JIP 56.56 installed) and while it seems to function fine so far, I had one small immersion-related request to make. When starting a new game from the Capital Wasteland with this mod installed, the Skill Book Collector quest is added as soon as the player character is born, before they've even gone through character creation. In my opinion, having it trigger upon leaving the vault would make more sense, since as far as I know there are no skill books in the opening segments of the game. At the very least it shouldn't activate until the player receives their Pip Boy during the birthday scene. This obviously doesn't really affect the gameplay at all, it's simply a suggestion for immersion and consistency purposes. If there's a technical reason this can't be done, though, it's not a huge problem either way.
Hello, shad0wshayd3. I second Rheph's suggestion if by any chance you want to revisit your mod in the future. I really appreciate this great mod of yours by the way. Stay healthy and stay baka, onichan. Cheers!
This mod has a CTD bug where if you are in the same cell as a skill book and activate the quest in the pipboy the games crashes.
Also seems to crash if you have the quest active before entering the cell.
Can easily be recreated by going to scrapyard. Stand out side where the fast travel drops you off. activate the quest head towards the place where you saved dogmeat and the game will crash or be where you saved him already and try to activate it and the game crashes.
Fixed my shownvse ini file was corrupted causing it to crash.
Also getting crashes with TTW version after installing mid-playthrough. I thought I upgraded to JIP 56.56 at the same time I installed this mod, but turns out I forgot to actually install the new JIP, so I have a few saves where I was using this with JIP 56.55. This lead to something interesting while testing:
1. If I run this mod with JIP 56.55 I crash when I select the skill book quest tracker 2. With JIP 56.56 installed, I still crash when selecting the skill book quest tracker if I load a save from when I had this mod installed alongside JIP 56.55 3. With JIP 56.56 installed, if I load a save from before I installed this mod, I'm able to select the quest tracker without it crashing 4. With JIP 56.56 installed, if I load a save from before I installed this mod (no crashes), activate the quest tracker, and then load a save from when I had this mod installed alongside JIP 56.55 I crash immediately before the save even finishes loading
Based on this it seems like the TTW crashes may be caused by the residual effects of whatever the issue was with the JIP function in 56.55?
No wait, I just got a crash while playing on a save where I never had this mod active without JIP 56.56. Scratch that. I do stand by my report that the crash only seems to happen when I select the quest tracker. I thought maybe Just Visual Objectives might be conflicting, but disabling that doesn't fix the crashes.
If it helps the place I'm reliably getting them is right outside the Arlington Library (though neither of the two skill books that show up on the tracker in the brief period before I crash sometimes are in the library because I already cleaned it out before installing this mod).
To add to the conversation, In my TTW install, I was having crashes with JIP 56.50, xNVSE 6.2.5, and Baka Book scanner 1.0, and updating them to JIP 56.56, xNVSE 6.2.7, and Baka 1.1 TTW seems to have fixed it.

EDIT: I figured it out, I needed to deactivate quest updates in MCM and reactivate it. I noticed after a couple mins I saw it in the quest menu.

That's it so far,
outstanding mod.
